The Next Day:
Adelaide had caught a cold and slept through the first class. Miriam, who couldn't take her eyes off her, felt deeply sad and guilty. The bell rang for recess, and Adelaide realized she wouldn't be able to finish the day at school. She struggled to get up and asked the vice-principal for permission to leave, then headed to her locker to drop off her books.
Heyvîn went up to her and pushed her harshly towards the locker.
Heyvîn: "It's your fault my best friend isn't talking to me."
Adelaide: "I don't care about you. Just leave me alone."
Heyvîn: "Or what?"
Miriam arrived and pushed Heyvîn away.
Miriam: "If you touch her again, I'll break you like a bug."
Adelaide: "Do whatever you want."
Adelaide went to the garden, having gotten permission to leave school, and bumped into Giuseppe.
Giuseppe: "Sorry."
Adelaide: "It's okay."
Giuseppe: "I remember you. How are you?"
Adelaide: "Thank you, I'm better."
Miriam watched them from the window. Adelaide said goodbye and parted ways with Giuseppe before leaving.
