As soon as Miriam and her friends learned that Adelaide had been stabbed, they headed to the hospital. The fear and anxiety inside them were at an all-time high. Miriam struggled to accept what had happened to Adelaide, reflecting on memories from the past.
Miriam: "How could this happen? I can't even bear to think about what happened to Adelaide."
Giuseppe focused on the road, driving quickly toward the hospital. Sitting next to him, Heyvîn mumbled anxiously.
Miriam: "Hurry up, please! I don’t want to leave Adelaide alone."
Without responding to Miriam's words, Giuseppe pressed the gas pedal harder. When they arrived at the hospital, they rushed inside. Nurses and doctors were in a frenzy at the emergency entrance. After a while, Miriam approached a nurse.
Miriam: "Have you seen Adelaide Tedesco? I need to know her condition."
The nurse replied with a tired expression on her face.
Nurse: "Yes, we have her. But you can't see her right now."
Miriam tried to process the nurse's words with tears in her eyes.
Miriam: "Please, just tell me something about her condition!"
Nurse: "Her condition is critical but stable. A doctor will be with you shortly."
Trying to hold back her tears, Miriam sat down with her friends in the waiting area. Giuseppe, Heyvîn, and the others tried to support Miriam as best as they could, their worry palpable.
In the early hours of the morning, a doctor approached them.
Doctor: "You can visit Adelaide Tedesco for a few minutes, but it can last no longer than five minutes."
Miriam struggled to grasp the meaning of the doctor's words. She did not want to lose Adelaide.
Miriam: "Thank you."
After getting permission to visit, she stepped into the room and felt her heart break when she saw Adelaide lying in a half-reclined position.
Miriam: "Adelaide! I'm here!"
Adelaide lifted her head slightly upon hearing Miriam's voice. Her eyes were weary but filled with love.
Adelaide: "Miriam... You're here..."
Miriam approached her and took her hand.
Miriam: "I won't lose you. You'll get through this. I'm here."
Adelaide took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
Adelaide: "I told you I was really hurt, but I can only express myself when I'm with you."
Miriam fought to hold back her tears. Adelaide's presence was a light for her. During the visit, the door to the room opened, and Adelaide's family entered. Her mother Amalia wore a look of regret as she worried for her daughter.
Amalia: "Adelaide, oh my dear girl. I'm so sorry for everything."
Unable to bear Amalia's regretful words, Miriam reacted harshly.
Miriam: "Now you feel sorry? After you burdened her with everything following her sister Dafin’s loss? What happened to how you treated Adelaide? What about the pain you wanted her to endure?"
Amalia was taken aback by Miriam's words, but her eyes were filled with tears.
Amalia: "I know, but I don't want to lose her."
Miriam: "As a mother, why didn't you act like this before? It’s too late for regret now. If you had learned to love her before losing her, maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation."
Giuseppe and Heyvîn could feel how tense the atmosphere had become as they watched the events unfold. As the visiting time came to an end, Miriam did not let go of Adelaide's hand. She wanted to stay a little longer, but the doctor had to separate them.
The next day, when she arrived at the hospital, she saw that Adelaide still hadn’t woken up. Her anxiety deepened.
Miriam: "Adelaide, please wake up. We’re waiting for you."
After waiting a bit longer, the doctor entered the room.
Doctor: "Adelaide’s condition is stable, but she is still asleep. I hope she wakes up soon."
Miriam closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Please, help her. I don’t want to lose her this time," she thought.
