Ishak Tedesco and Amalia Tedesco have been waiting for Adelaide, and she finally arrives.

Amalia: Where have you been?
Adelaide: I had dinner with my friend.
Amalia: You could have answered your phone.
Adelaide: My battery died.
Ishak: Forget that loser; let them deal with their problems.
Adelaide: What do you mean?
Amalia: After your sister, nothing matters to us, and you can go to hell too.

Adelaide says nothing and goes to her room, her eyes welling up. Yet she was a master at hiding her tears; perhaps it was another one of her curses. But Amalia quickly follows her, hurling insults.

Amalia: Where do you think you’re going?
Adelaide: Mom, can you just leave me alone?
Amalia: You can't be comfortable while your sister is lying on a cold ground. As long as you're in my house, I won’t let you be at ease.

Adelaide's eyes were filled with tears, and finally unable to hold back, she cries. She rushes to her room to grab a few belongings, but Amalia snatches them away, pulling and tearing a few of her shirts and her cardigan.

Adelaide: Are you happy now? Is your conscience at ease?
Amalia: If you want to leave, go without taking a single thing.
Ishak: Wait a minute, Amalia, what are you doing?
Amalia: I’m leaving her to her own devices.

Adelaide leaves the house. Unlike Miriam, she has no driver since her sister's death and has been punished by her family, forced to take public transportation or walk. She has no money even for an Uber, as her family has always ignored her. She sets off to go to her uncle's house, who values her greatly and sees her as one of his own children.

As she walks, a thug taunts her, calling her "baby." Although Adelaide continues to walk briskly, the thug grabs her by the arm, causing her to panic and gasp for breath.

Thug: Are you scared, pretty girl?
Adelaide: Let me go, right now.
Thug: Who are you giving orders to, escort?

The thug tries to take her bag, but it contains her phone and personal items, and she resists. The thug hits her in the face, but Adelaide still manages to fight back. Seeing police lights two streets away, the thug stabs Adelaide and flees. Adelaide collapses on the ground, covered in blood.
