“So, you're the one getting a tattoo appointment?” the artist asked, glancing up from his sketchbook, a pencil deftly poised between his fingers as he meticulously outlined a design.
"Yep, that's me," Felix confirmed with a warm smile, his striking yellow eyes sparkling with anticipation as he ran his fingers through his loose, dark hair, allowing a hint of nervous excitement to show.
"Mhm, follow me." Aaron replied and walked to the back room, not turning his head to see if Felix was walking behind.
"Sure thing!" Felix replied cheerfully, easily falling into step behind Aaron, admiring the artist's confidence as he walked past the various artworks adorning the walls.
Aaron stopped in front of the room, turning his body to look at Felix. He leaned his back on the wall and crossed his arms. He observed the man before him, noticing his cheerful tone and yellow eyes. He made a hum in response, studying Felix's appearance up and down.
"Is there something specific you're looking for?" Felix asked, returning the appraisal with a playful tilt of his head, curious about the artist's silent scrutiny.
"Nothing, I'm just observing you." Aaron replied, his deep, cold voice and blank expression didn't show any emotions as he spoke. He pushed himself off the wall and stood straight in front of Felix, towering over him by a large amount, he leaned his head a bit to look down at Felix.
"Well, I hope I pass your inspection then," Felix chuckled lightly, his gaze remaining steady despite the height difference, a friendly grin playing on his lips.
Aaron gave a hum in response again, his eyes still fixed on Felix's eyes before they slowly drift towards his lips. He made a quick glance at it then back to those yellow irises. His thoughts for a moment was to just pin him on the nearest surface and press his lips on his, but he held it back and regained his composure.
Raising an eyebrow slightly at the prolonged eye contact, Felix cleared his throat softly and took a small step back, keeping the atmosphere light as he chuckled, "So, about my tattoo design…”
Aaron broke his gaze from those yellow eyes and back to the man's face. "Right, show me the design, I need to see it before starting. " he said in a deep, blank tone.
"Of course!" Felix responded smoothly, pulling out the sketch of a stylized wolf howling at a crescent moon from his pocket, his hand slightly trembling from the previous intensity, but his smile remained unaffected.
Aaron took the sketch, observing it keenly, he traced his fingers on the design as his eyes studied it. He was standing close to Felix so their shoulders were almost touching, but the tall and muscular man didn't mind the close proximity. He glanced at Felix before averting his eyes back to the sketch.
"It's inspired by a song lyric actually," Felix explained, his voice steady and casual, enjoying the opportunity to share the story behind the design.
"A song lyric?" Aaron's deep voice echoed as he said those words. He was still looking at the design, as if he was searching for a hidden meaning behind it. "And what is the meaning to it? " he added in a curious tone, his cold eyes looking up, meeting Felix's eyes.
"The song is called 'Lone Wolf,' and it's about finding strength in solitude," Felix shared, his eyes reflecting a genuine love for music, a topic that never failed to intrigue him.
"Hmm, finding strength in solitude..." Aaron mused, his eyes were fixated on Felix, studying his face as he spoke. His expression was still the same, stoic and cold, yet his gaze held a certain intensity. "So, you're getting it because it reminds you of yourself?" he questioned with a hint of curiosity in his usually blank tone.
