—IT had been around five minutes or so and Y/n had yet to come out of her hiding spot. She was starting to think Wriothesley wasn't even in the same room as her.

"Your hospitality skills are appalling by the way", he commented.

Her eyes widened momentarily. How did he know she was there?? Navia must've snitched.

Wriothesley folded his arms, index finger tapping his elbow rhythmically. "Y'know, I came here for you so can I at least see your face?".

"I don't want you to see my face", she spat back. Despite the vulgarity in her tone, she was a complete mess behind the couch. Cheeks flushed and face hot. She hated how his words just now reminded her of the kiss—or kisses— they shared.

"Really? Shame cause i've been thinking a lot about that face recently", he commented casually. "Thought you'd come out and put me out of my misery".

Y/n hugged her knees tighter. She couldn't understand how he could say such things so normally. She chose to stay quiet because she knew her voice would surely betray her whether a stutter or a crack.

"Because I'll admit it, Y/n—whatever this thing is between us, it's driving me insane."

Y/n lifted her head up from between her knees and muttered a celebratory 'yes!' to herself. All her efforts of pushing him away weren't in vain. She turned around and stood on her knees, leaning her head forward so their heads were side by side.

"You're finally sick of me?!", she exclaimed happily.

Wriothesley slapped a hand on his face. He was sure all she heard was 'it's driving me insane'.

"What's driving me crazy is how much I don't want to stay away from you", he explained, his tone dropping slightly as she finally met his intense gaze that traced her features which held sheer confusion.

The excitement on her lips faltered. "What are you trying to say?", she asked in a tone that sounded almost scared.

"What i'm saying is I love you".
