“I’m fine, I feel better already!”
“You’re still running a 38° fever. No way in hell are you walking home like that.”
“I’ll call my driver. I’m rich, okay?” Hongjoong argued, his phone already in his hands.
“While you’re at that, also tell your driver that because he decided to take the night off, you’re sick and injured.”
“No. He’s my good friend too.”
Seonghwa rolled his eyes. “Whatever.”
Hongjoong nodded, punching a few numbers in his phone. He waited a while before talking to the person on the other side of the line, nodding when the person said something.
“My driver is on the way.” Hongjoong said, standing up. He flinched at the movement, suddenly remembering his injuries. He reached his hand to his back, feeling the gauze.
“Sit down.” Seonghwa put a hand on his shoulder. He made Hongjoong take off his shirt and put it aside neatly, turning his attention to his back
Ah
Seonghwa gasped, shocked at the state of the gauze. He frowned, wondering why he was shocked. It was normal for these wounds to bleed like this when they were fresh. He knew.
“I’ll go get the items. Your driver may have to wait a while for you later on.” Seonghwa said, watching as Hongjoong took out his phone. He went to the cupboard and got the medical kit out, bringing it to the living room.
“You know… You’re the first person that I’ve ever felt this close to. I haven’t had the luxury of making friends, with my dad not allowing me to play with anyone when I was younger.” Hongjoong started talking while Seonghwa was fixing him up.
“You mean you’ve never had any friends?”
"No," Hongjoong interjected. "I have 2 people that I'm close to, and we have a friendship group with other people."
Seonghwa put the cloth into the pail of warm water and poured some medicine onto the cotton wool that was between the metal tweezers. He dabbed lightly on the long gash.
“What about you?”
“Me?”
“Yeah.”
Seonghwa paused for a while. He used to be close with someone, but he had lost contact with him over the years.
“I used to have one close friend but that’s all. It’s more than enough, to be honest. Too many friends just means drama, which I don’t want. I'm trying to make new friends nowadays, though.”
“Oh.” Hongjoong paused. “Thanks for being my friend.”
“Mhm. Same here.”
They went back into silence while Seonghwa taped the gauze onto his back. The silence was a comfortable one, though, not awkward like you would think. They were content with the peace, the only sounds that were made were from the crinkling of the plastic.
Ding Dong
Seonghwa stood up and went to the door, opening it. At the doorstep was a tall man clad in a smart suit. He had car keys in his hand and Seonghwa knew that he was Hongjoong’s driver.
Seonghwa was in awe.
Hongjoong’s driver was tall, so tall that the word didn’t feel like it was enough to describe him. While Seonghwa himself was already considered tall, this guy was a whole head taller than him.
To add on, he was also strikingly handsome, with brown hair and sharp features. Combined with his height, no one would believe that he was just a mere driver. He could be a model, considering his looks and height. He was a whole damn package.
