Where did everything go wrong?
When did everything start?
When had everything taken that turn for the worse?

Things were perfect. Seonghwa had just received a huge bonus at work. He had bought a new house for himself. And he had plenty of friends.
But he just had to come along.
Lee Yujin. He was just a random stranger to Seonghwa when they met at a cafe one day. It was a bright and sunny day, Seonghwa’s favourite. He loved the warm rays of sunlight that shone brightly, with the lively atmosphere of the city.
“Hi, is this seat empty?” Yujin asked, a bright smile on his face.
Seonghwa shook his head, not bothering to look up. He was in no mood to talk to anyone, tired from the previous night’s work and the caffeine not kicking in yet. He motioned for him to take the chair and leave, going back to his laptop.
To his surprise, the stranger pulled the chair out and sat down, putting his cup of coffee on the table. “Thanks! There are no other empty seats.”
Seonghwa nodded, his face stoic. He hoped that the stranger would take it as a symbol that he was not at all interested in a conversation. Mercifully, the stranger was quiet for the entire time he was there.
Just as Seonghwa packed up his stuff, the stranger spoke again. “Hi, my name is Yujin. Can I have your number?” He asked, stretching out his hand.
Seonghwa looked at him in shock at what he had just asked for. He didn’t even know his name up until like 2 seconds ago and he was asking for his number already? The boldness was crazy.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t give my number to strangers.” Seonghwa said, quickly packing up the rest of his stuff, hoping to make an escape from this weird and slightly creepy situation.
“Oh, I didn’t know that. Could you make an exception for me?” Yujin said, stopping Seonghwa from leaving.
Seonghwa shook his head and bowed slightly in apology. God, he just wanted to get out of that damn cafe and never see this guy again because what was this kind of request?
“Please? I would like to keep in contact with you. I promise I’m not a stalker or something like that.” He said, begging. Seonghwa sighed and took out a piece of paper. He scribbled down his number and shoved it into Yujin’s hands.
As he sped out of the cafe, he heard Yujin shout a ‘thank you’ behind him. He didn’t think much about this decision back then, but little did he know that this would be the root of all his future problems.
They soon became close, with Yujin texting Seonghwa every day. The man would ask Seonghwa how he was doing, or ask him more about himself or simply just wish him a good morning and a good day at work.
Soon, Seonghwa came to enjoy and look forward to these texts. Although he wasn’t much of a texter and would answer him with very minimal texts, he liked this person that was able to just rant on and on about very nearly everything.
Yujin:
Hi!!!! How has your day been going? Mine’s kinda bad… but texting you has made it better!Yeah. This was the kind of message he would send. They were kind of cute and funny, though. Seonghwa liked the little compliments of himself he would make while texting, subtly slipping them into the sentences he would write.
