It was a pretty typical day in San Dimas. Bill and I were hanging out, trying to come up with new riffs for Wyld Stallyns, when this girl approached us. She looked a bit nervous but had an undeniable spark in her eyes. She introduced herself as Ava and started telling us about this wild story about how she built some Time Machine out of an old phone booth.
At first, I thought she might be joking, but the way she spoke-with so much passion and excitement-had me totally hooked.
"Woah, that's like totally excellent!" Bill exclaimed, and I couldn't help but echo his enthusiasm.
"Yeah dude! That is most triumphant!" I added, feeling a rush of excitement.
As we found somewhere to just chill, I realized something: she was different from anyone I've ever met. She was intelligent, creative, and had an adventurous spirit that resonated with me deeply. As she described her fascination with the 80's and what not, I couldn't help but be impressed.
"Wait, so you built the Time Machine out of an old phone booth?" I asked, still trying to wrap my head around it.
"Yeah," she replied, her smile lighting up her face. "
"It might sound like I'm on crack, but it totally worked."
"Woah," bill said, his face lighting up in amazement while shaking his head in amazement. "That's like, the most excellent thing ever."
As we continued to talk, I found myself drawn to Ava in a way I hadn't expected. Her laughter was most infectious. She just seemed really cute in general. Ava fit right in with us, instantly clicked. But as evening turned to night, I found myself thinking about her in a way that went beyond friendship.
Her presence made my heart race in a way I couldn't understand. I caught her stealing a couple of glances at me, so I did the same back.
