Wukong and MK were training their attacks colliding with eachother as the ground shakes.
Wukong suddenly dodges MK's attacks until he uses his tail to wrap around MK's leg, throwing him into the inside of Flower Fruit Mountain. "Better. Way, way better. You're totally getting the hang of this, bud!"
"Aw really?" MK says getting up as he brushed himself off.
"I mean, it does make sense. You are getting trained by me. Now, we just gotta work on your focus." Wukong says flipping onto a rock and laying back.
"Yeah, I am the best of focus- What do you mean, "work on my focus?!" I-I'm like number 1 Focus Guy!"
"Ugh, if anyone is No. 1 Focus Guy, it's me." Wukong says with a shrug as he grabs a bag of chips.
"What?! Literally, your entire legacy is about you being impulsive and dodging responsibilities!" MK says pulling out a book of Wukong’s orgin.
"That's where you are wrong."
"The time that you ate all the Immortal Peaches that you were meant to guard?"
"That was a long time ago."
"When you kept annoying everyone at the Celestial Realm?"
"That's a matter of opinion."
"The time you picked a fight with Buddha-"
Wukong shoves a chip in MK's mouth. "See, that right there is the problem. You stressed too much about the negatives. Focus is taking in everything, but honing in only on the one thing that matters. Right now, I'm talking to you while also honing in the speed of the wind, the moisture in the air, these 37 emails for my lawyer, the first 18 seasons of "Monkey King: The Animated Series." The inner resonance of my soul that contemplate the fact that I am an immortal being, who will never be able to die or find love. And that bug right over there. But... I'm paying attention to you. Take in everything, choose what you want to do, and then do it. That is focus."
"That sounds... super confusing, and like you're just constantly distracted."
"Or maybe, you just can't handle real focus?" Wukong says with a smile as he crosses his arms with pride.
"Wukong, your training has elevated your chances of attacking heaven by 1%. A explanation is required." Y/n says as he slams into the ground behind Wukong, he slowly raises up and straightened his posture.
"OH! Y-Y/n nice to see your up and well, I thought you would have been resting longer since last night~" MK looks between the two moving over to the rock and sits down
"What do you mean last nig-"
"He insisted on trying to get me to lay down... since he has never seen me lay down before" Y/n states firmly before offering Wukong his hand, hoisting up the Monkey king onto his shoulders.
"Context?" MK asks curiously as Wukong lays down across Y/n's shoulders.
"He was intoxicated"
*Timeskip*
Wukong’s tail lazily flicked back and forth as he balanced himself on Y/n’s shoulders, his golden eyes tracing the drifting clouds above. He could still feel the warmth radiating from Y/n’s body, steady and grounding. It was almost... too comfortable.
He huffed, shifting slightly, his cheek pressing against the back of Y/n's neck armor. Why was he still up here anyway? He could just, jump off anytime. But he didn’t. Instead, his thoughts swirled like the wind brushing through the mountain peaks.
Why did it feel so different with Y/n?
Wukong’s usual confidence wavered as his mind played back their countless encounters, teasing banter, quiet moments when they were just sitting in silence. Y/n was always so composed, so... dependable. A stark contrast to Wukong’s chaotic energy.
