Two days have passed since the incident in the Dragonpit. As Laenys had predicted, Aemond had told his mother which resulted in the Velaryon children being scolded by their grandsire, the King.

Since then, Laenys has been annoyed at her brothers for pulling her into their antics. She would avoid and sometimes downright ignore them, much to their dismay. She had even stopped running from her Septa since she would usually find herself in the company of her brothers.

However, today she didn't want to deal with her Septa's lesson on needlework so when she found the opportunity, she ran. At first, she didn't want to go to the training yards, where her brothers would be, but she found that there wasn't anywhere else for her to hide.

When she got to the training yards, she noticed her grandsire and the Hand of the King, Lord Lyonel, on the balcony watching Aegon, Aemond, Jace, and Luce train with Ser Criston.

Laenys quickly hid in her usual hiding place before anyone could notice her. Just as she was finished adjusting herself so she could watch her uncles and brothers hitting the straw dummies, she spotted Ser Harwin entering the training yard.

Ser Criston was sparring with Aegon and Aemond while Jace and Luce watched so Ser Harwin decided to walk toward her brothers, who were close to where she was hiding. He looked toward her and chuckled while shaking his head but said nothing to her.

Just as Ser Criston finished sparing with the elder princes, Ser Harwin called to the younger two princes, "Ah. Weapons up, boys. Give your enemies no quarter."

Ser Criston looked at the Lord commander of the city watch with clear annoyance.

"It seems the younger boys could do better with a bit of your attention, Ser Criston," Ser Harwin says.

The kingsguard clearly irritated asks, "You question my method of instruction, Ser?"

"No, I merely suggest that method be applied to all your pupils."

Ser Criston looks to the ground and nods, "Very Well."

Jace smiles, happy that Harwin was standing up for him until the Kingsguard grabs him by his chest plate.

"Jacaerys. You spar with Aegon," He says which causes Aemond to laugh, "Eldest son against eldest son." Hearing this causes Laenys to frown as she knows that her brother isn't nearly as good as Aegon yet nor as big.

The young prince looks nervously toward Ser Harwin as if asking for help.

"It's hardly a favor match," says Ser Harwin.

"I know you've never seen true battle Ser, but when steal is drawn, a fair match isn't something anyone should expect," Ser Criston bites back.

Aegon and Jace get an appropriate distance from each other and raise their wooden swords.

"Engage."

Aegon quickly comes at the younger prince with hard swings of the sword. Jace attempts to stay on the defense but the elder of the two pushes him to the ground and laughs.

Laenys knew her brother didn't handle failure well so as expected, he got back up and ran at Aegon with a battle cry.

Jace begins wildly swinging the sword which causes the elder prince to back up. When Aegon attempts to block a swipe of the sword, Jace hits him in the knee nearly knocking him off balance. The elder prince grabs a straw dummy and pushes it at the young prince.

"Foul play," Ser Harwin calls out.

"I'll deal with him."

Ser Harwin grabs Jace whilst Ser Criston grabs Aegon. They each instruct their pupils on how to beat the other.
