Late 10th moon of 133 AC

When Laenys enters her chambers to freshen up before supper, she finds the trunk Jace had left for her. It was slightly bigger than she had expected and had a note on the top. She opened the note and grinned.

"For my sweet sister. From Jacaerys," the note read in Jace's neat handwriting.

She unlocks the trunk and opens it; the contents leave her dumbfounded. There are several bundles of Braavosi silk in different colors at the bottom. On top of the silk are laid several necklaces with different color gems and different types of steel, along with several rings, earrings, and bracelets to pair with the necklaces.

What really catches her eye is the small dagger that rests on top of it all. A black dagger with small red rubies along the sheath and hilt. When she unsheathed the dagger, she noticed the dark color of the sharp blade. Valyrian steel, one of the rarest steels in the world.

"This must've cost a fortune," Laenys mumbles to herself, admiring the blade.

A knock sounds at the door of her chambers, snapping her out of her trance, "Enter," she announces, sheathing the blade and laying it on the bed.

"I was sent to remind you that supper is to start within the hour," a younger Kingsguard says.

"Thank you, Ser. I will be there shortly," she informs the man.

Once he closes the door, she goes to the mirror in her room and checks her appearance to make sure she is still presentable. She then goes back to the trunk and looks for a necklace to match her bracelet.

She eventually settles for a necklace that matches the bracelet her brother had given her earlier. It matches well with the flowy blue and purple dress she wears, much to her delight. After that, she returns to the mirror just to ensure her appearance is perfect.

Laenys enters the large dining chambers and sees her family seated along with the Queen's family. Her mother sits on the right side of the table with her husband beside her and Joff next to him while Luce and Rhaena sit at the end beside one another. Baela sits across from her father while Jace sits a seat down from her across from the King's seat.

On the other end of the table, the Queen sits beside her father, the Hand, while Helaena and Aegon sit across from them. Aemond sits on the opposite end from Luce and Rhaena which is bound to become awkward at some point with the way the man is staring at the two.

The young Princess sits in between her elder brother and her cousin, Baela. She knows her mother had deemed it best that her two youngest brothers not attend a dinner like this, so they were likely in their chambers.

Jace looks at her once she's seated with a teasing smile, "I feared you had gotten lost, I thought I would have to come and find you."

"I was merely trying to freshen up," Laenys retorts with a smile of her own.

"Yes, yes, freshening up in that trunk I see," Jace says eyeing the necklaces around her neck.

The princess lets out an airy laugh, "Yes, I found your lovely gifts. Thank you again, everything was beautiful."

"Well, I remembered your like for shining things and gifts," he smirks.

"Speaking of those gifts," she turns and whispers lowly, "How did you manage to find a Valyrian steel dagger? Such a nice one at that."

He turns and faces her, "I found it on Bloodstone after a battle. It's too small for my liking so I wanted to give it to you. I'll teach you how to use it if you'd like."
