Shinobu threw herself in front of the attack... to die in my place. At that moment, only three conclusions about this fight came to my mind, and in all of them... someone important would die, and I couldn't accept that outcome. "Things can't end like this... there must be another way!" I screamed from the depths of my soul and jumped forward in the middle of my attack, getting closer to Shinobu, trying to pull her out of the way, but 'he' was faster... Blood... My attack hit directly, cutting Muzan's arm...
-"Kanroji! Kocho!" A scream came from my side. I turned my face and... it was Iguro-san... Yes, Shinobu and I had been hit by the attack, both of us pierced, and with one more thrust from Muzan, everyone except Tanjiro was thrown far away by the attack. Iguro tried to hold us in the air but couldn't. We both crashed into the wall, but we were together, embracing Shinobu from behind... I was crying.
-"Shinobu... why did you try to throw yourself in front of the attack?"
-"I... didn't want you to die..."
-"And the way you thought was to kill yourself in my place?"
-"That was... the only thing I thought..." I let out a small laugh.
-"For someone who thinks of the smallest details... that was a surprise..." She laughed a bit in return.
-"Yeah... in the end, it didn't matter..." Iguro was running towards us...
-"Kocho! Kanroji! Damn it! If only I had been faster!"
-"Iguro-san... it's okay... go help in the battle..." He was desperate at that moment.
-"I... I... No... There has to be some way! It can't end like this!"
-"Iguro-san... leave us alone... go help them... please, it's the last thing I ask..." He didn't want to accept, and I didn't want Shinobu dead either... But there was no other ending. It could only end this way. Out of respect, Iguro returned to the fight; he seemed to be crying a little.
-"Now... finally alone again..."
-"Yes... Mitsuri, I didn't want this... if only you could survive..."
-"I would be sad... I don't want to be without you. If I have to die with you, I'm not sad... If it's with you, nothing is bad..." Hearing me, Shinobu struggled to break free from my embrace. She turned, sitting facing me.
-"I... promise that..." Shinobu stretched out her arms and pulled me to lay my head on her lap, a strength she didn't even know she had. To me, Shinobu was upside down, but I could still see her... I wasn't crying, just smiling while blood trickled from her mouth.
-"In the next life... we will be together... I promise that... in the next life, I will be stronger..." She smiled and soon brought her head closer to mine...
-"Shinobu... you are already the strongest person I know..." Then I lifted my head as much as I could and, in a kiss... that was it... "Finally... it's over" was my last thought as Shinobu... died sitting, holding my shoulders not too tightly... I died lying on her lap, our bodies growing cold together, while our souls left us... Together...
-"Tick! Tick! Tick! Tick!!" - My God, how annoying - I raised my hand and hit the alarm clock... "What day is it today?... I think it's Monday..." I lazily got up, walked to the window, and pulled up the curtains; the sun was very strong today, but the sound of cars was still loud. "This is so annoying..." Then, after that, I took off my pajamas and left them on the bed. "I'll get my clothes later..." Then, I went to the wardrobe and grabbed another outfit, now a purple dress with a common belt, as well as some white pants that were also good to put on. After putting on all the pieces I wanted, I left my room.
-"Nee-san! Are you already awake!? Remember we have to go out today!" I shouted, calling her. Today we are going to the city center to buy a special tiara that I ordered from outside.
-"Yes, yes, Cho-chan, calm down hehe." My sister appeared, just coming out of the bathroom wearing a little vest, like one of those old-fashioned ones, and a very pretty green dress; it seemed like we lived in the countryside... Well, taste is taste.
-"Alright, since you're so excited, let's go now, okay?" She chuckled, and soon we went to the front door, carefully unlocking it before opening it. Always fearing breaking the key on the way back, we left the apartment and went downstairs, stopping on the sidewalk... The door closed automatically, needing only to be unlocked with the key to enter.
-"So, Cho-chan, you've been pretty excited these last few days, haven't you? You dyed your hair purple, bought new clothes, and even ordered a tiara... Are you preparing for someone?" She always made these jokes.
-"Frankly, nee-san, whenever you make those comments you sound more like an aunt than a sister... Besides, the color didn't stick, only the tips; the clothes are because I grew in size, and the tiara... well, that's just for aesthetics." She smiled without making any more comments as we walked further and further... It was a considerably long way from our house and...
-"Ow!" Someone bumped into me. So much space on the street and fell on top of me!
-"Idiot, can't you see where..." As I was about to curse, I looked ahead... A girl who seemed clumsy, wearing glasses, but it was clear she didn't need them. She wore a white dress with a matching hat; her hair was poorly dyed, with just green streaks and small pink traces on top. I ended up freezing there... I felt... something.
-"E... E... S... Sorry!" She said very embarrassed as she got off me and tried to grab her cell phone, shopping, and glasses, while I picked up the latter and offered them to her.
-"E... here they are..." She saw me offering and seemed to freeze just like me, but soon grabbed the glasses; our gazes crossed and our eyes seemed to shine.
-"Hey, girl... be more careful..." My sister said as she helped me get up.
-"Yes, yes, I'm sorry!" She shouted again as she tried to run away.
-"Wait!" I shouted after getting up and turned to her, where she also stopped; our eyes crossed again...
-"What... is your name?" I shouted...
-"Mine is Cho Hisashi!" The girl, quite embarrassed, then turned and, before running away, shouted...
-"Azami!... Sa- Sakura!!" Soon she ran away, embarrassed; my heart was racing just from seeing that girl, even if for a second... I felt like I had known her for a long time, so I smiled and turned around, knowing our paths would definitely cross again, but for now...
This was the reunion of the Flower and the Butterfly.
