Julianna, or "Three" as she was known in Hawkins Lab, sat on the edge of her cot, legs crossed, with a well-worn book resting in her lap. The room was the same sterile white as always, the same soft hum of the overhead fluorescent lights, the same cold, indifferent air of the facility. But today, something felt different. The tension outside her door was palpable, and she could sense that something new was coming.

She wasn't wrong.

The door to her room slid open with a faint hiss, and in walked Dr. Owens, clipboard in hand and a slight smile on his face. He was more of a bureaucrat than a scientist, but he was one of the more reasonable ones. He rarely treated her like a lab rat, unlike the others. She kept her eyes on her book, feigning disinterest, but she knew whatever he had to say would pull her attention soon enough.

"Three," he greeted, his tone calm but purposeful. He stepped closer, his shoes clicking against the tile floor. "I need to speak with you."

Julianna looked up, her dark eyes meeting his, the cold indifference in her gaze betraying nothing of the thoughts racing in her head. She slowly closed her book, setting it aside. "What is it?" she asked, her voice low, even, and without emotion.

"We have a new assignment for you," Dr. Owens said, standing a few feet away from her. "A very important one."

Julianna straightened slightly. It wasn't unusual for her to be sent on assignments, but something about his tone, about the way he was standing so close, made it clear that this was different. More serious.

"You're going to be leaving the lab for a while," he continued, studying her closely for any reaction. "We need you to find someone. Your sister."

At that, Julianna's eyes narrowed just a fraction. Her sister. Her mind immediately went to the other numbers, the ones like her. She had heard whispers about them, about the ones who had escaped. And then it clicked.

"Eleven," Dr. Owens clarified, watching the recognition dawn on her face. "She's out there, somewhere in Hawkins. We believe she's in hiding. Your mission is to find her."

Julianna's heartbeat quickened, but her expression remained calm. She had heard the stories about Eleven-the girl who had escaped the lab, who had done what no one else had. The girl who had brought chaos and destruction to the very place they were raised.

She nodded slowly. "Okay," she said simply, her voice cold, detached. This wasn't the first time she'd been tasked with something dangerous, and it wouldn't be the last. She was built for this.
