"good morning everyone! hope your all well" Mr Bae, thier english teacher chimed. despite his positive attitude he received a monotonous response.

"as you all know, your final exams start in a month or so and I'm sure you already heard this but your grade 11 final report is extremely important and plays a major role in determining your university and to some extent your future"

the class started complaining. they all had been hearing this since the beginning of the year. this was supposed to be fun. high school was supposed to be fun. but no, it's just work, work, work.

it was understandable that they had to work hard in order to have a successful future one day but why didn't anyone mention all the pressure that came with it?

it was mentally exhausting and everyone had had about enough of this. especially haknyeon. he thought about it everytime he was at school or when he was doing his homework.

it was like a dark cloud lingering over him. he was one of the performing students in the school but that also has its own pressure.

and this thing of the teachers constantly reminding them that this was an important year for them wasn't helping in any way either.

it wasn't any better when he went home. with his parents also pressurizing about his university choices and whether or not he would go overseas for his studies - he doesn't even know what he wants to study - heck he isn't sure that his gonna pass this year!

and even if he does senior year wasn't going to be any easier. senior year was supposed to be the highlight of thier high school life but no - high school just sucks the living daylight out of you.

fuck high school musical for tricking us like that.

"I know that this is difficult and exhausting but unfortunately it's life. so to make sure that you guys are upto standard we are going to be doing alot of intervention, well that is for engilsh but I do not know about your other subjects."

the class began mumbling amongst themselves. haknyeon just stared at the board as Mr Bae continued

"here on the board I've written down what to prepare for class tommorow. tomorrow we are going to start with our literature intervention. I want us to focus on our literature essays just to make sure that you guys don't have any problems with that."

the class began to complain again. liteature was already boring and difficult and just unnecessary, now they would have to do it in a language that wasn't korean? fuck life honestly.

"for today however I did not plan anything for you guys so you can relax abit because these next few months are not going to be easy"

that did kind of ease the class abit. the only reason people still even came to this class was because of Mr Bae. he was kind, he knows his work and is an excellent teacher and understands his students very well - he cared for them.

however, haknyeon was starting to think that this was an act. think about it. if he really did care for the students and all that why would he give them difficult question papers to complete, or put a literature essay in the exam or give them so much homework - why would he just add on to the stress?

haknyeon wasn't buying it. don't get him wrong. he also loves Mr Bae, but this was starting to get fishy....

or haknyeon was just lazy and didn't want to study. but then again who does?

^_^

haknyeon went to the school's library. he couldnt figure out this one math equation. usually he would use the internet or AI or just copy it off from some random person but if he wanted to pass the upcoming the exam and graduate next year he needed to start taking school seriously and actually understand what was going on.

he was supposed to walk home with eric today but he had basketball practice and he didn't fell like going home now.

and out of all the places he ended up here. maybe this would help motivate him to work harder. not that he doesn't but still. he was really stressed out.

he knew that he had to work harder but it was like he physically couldn't. like he had reached his full capacity.

but he had to work harder. he wanted to have a successful job one day and live a successful life. but it was just too much. not to mention that his parents are waiting for his success.

they never asked much of him. they took very good care of him and spoiled him. they were the best. all they wanted was  for him to well in school and get into a good university and one day a good paying job.

heck they were even going to pay the tuition fees for the university all he had to do was excell at school.

but I don't think they know that it's not as easy as it sounds.

^_^

haknyeon was leaving when he bumped into eric "you're still here?" the boy asked and received a nod as an response "what were you doing all this time?" eric asked as they walked home "I was in the library"

"wait" they stopped and the older turned to him "the school has a library?!" haknyeon stared at him for a minute before they bursted out into laughter. eric always knew how to make him laugh. whether it was intentional or not haknyeon appreciated it.

"hey you wanna get some ice-cream?" eric's eyes beemed with excitement "really?!" this reminded haknyeon of the little kindergarten kids who would ask for a puppy and then would make the face eric is making when they finally got it.

"let's go before I changed my mind" he chuckled and they walked to the ice-cream shop chatting about random things.

"by the way how did you find the photocards"

"eric"

"yes?"

"you don't do physics"
