eric grabbed a juice bottle from the counter and added it onto his tray. he walked towards the usual table where he sat during lunch time.

as he approached the table he noticed an unfamiliar back - a back that didn't look like haknyeon's back. he took his headphones off and continued walking none the less because can you really tell who is who by just staring at thier back?

"sorry wrong table-"

"donkey!"

"shrek?"

eric sat down at the table and looked at the boy who was beside him. it was sunwoo. he was the figure he saw and didn't recognize.

"hi!" haknyeon leaned forward and appeared as if he was hiding behind sunwoo. haknyeon smiled and waved at him.

eric was beyond confused. his mind was running wild. he thought about the previous conversations that they had had, then the way sunwoo acted around them and now here he was seating at thier lunch table? and that too in his seat. what was going on?

"didn't you see me?" he was still leaning forward. before eric could answer he watched sunwoo pick his chopsticks up and put a few pieces of chicken onto haknyeon's plate who smiled and happily ate as if it was his first time eating chicken.

eric's mouth hung open as he watched them. he noticed that haknyeon already had pieces of chicken on his plate, so why did he give him his?

after realising that he wasn't ever going to figure this out he made a mental note which he knew he was going to forget to ask haknyeon about it later because he was sure haknyeon knew why they were sharing food all of a sudden.

he hesitantly (I don't know why he was hesitant) picked up his chopsticks. usually he'd start with the rice and save the chicken for last but since the chicken made the other so happy he ate it first.

and it tasted the same as it has always tasted, like someone had accidentally dropped the chicken in to boiling water, then in some very bland spices - if that's even a thing and dropped it into the fryer and when they took it out they forgot to serve it with some sauce. they didn't even bother to sprinkle some salt onto it for some pizzazz.

anyway he continued eating and minded his own business. he was quite the whole time. he didn't bother trying to join thier conversation even if it was just haknyeon talking and sunwoo nodding his head.

he was third-wheeling at this point. it was annoying but eric was willing to deal with it if it meant haknyeon was still smiling. and besides it was just for today......right?

he reached out for his juice and was about to drink it when his eyes landed on sunwoo also opening the bottle then giving it to the older who happily drank it.

now that threw eric off completely. haknyeon didn't even like this particular juice. he even made an effort to buy a drink before school started just so he didn't have to drink this one.

he watched them interact and drank some juice. he closed the bottle and saw haknyeon take the serviette on his tray and lift his hand.

"and I'm done" eric slammed his juice on his tray which earned the other two's attention. he stood up and took his things.

if this was going to go where he thought it was going he was not going to witness haknyeon wipe whatever was on sunwoo's face. the whole lunch they had been acting very cliché and eric was too annoyed to deal with them.

"what? your not even done eating!"

"yes I am"

and with that he did the disposal process and left the cafeteria.
