Fucking hell , she's so adorable.

She seems to be a little more comfortable around me and that idea made me so fucking happy.

I want her to be comfortable around me. I want to teach her how to surf. I want to show her around Italy one day. Fuck, I'm so excited that she's here.

Our family is finally complete. After so many years feeling alone—feeling like I was the only one who actually cared about keeping our family together.

Shortly after mama left and papa died, Rafael and Ace threw themselves into work, maintaining the businesses. Marco left for a couple years only occasionally coming back to visit. He took care of things outside of New York, overseas and such.

While Damon and I..... we grew apart for a while. As we grew up, we realized that our family would never be the same again so we distanced ourselves. We were like complete opposites at one period. He went out all the time, hung out with different people, and got himself in trouble all the time. I even changed my hair because we couldn't stand people looking at us like we were the same.

I didn't hate him though. He felt alone just like me but coped a different way. It was hard for me watch his downfall after that, his addiction got worse, his mood. He was the closest person to me for most of my life and for us to detach from each other didn't help neither of us.

He thought drugs, alcohol, and girls would make him feel less shitty about everything. At a one moment, I tried it and I thought that too. The thing is that it works until it doesn't.

Eventually Rafael got tired of Damon's antics and took away his privileges. Cars, money, freedom, and such. It was funny to tease at him at moments until he just became a gloomy motherfucker who hated everyone and everything. Still does.

Honestly Rafael had it worst from what I saw. He would rather die than admit that he was struggling, however. He was 16 when mama took Lia away and barely 18 when he was forced to take all four of us under his guardianship.

He might be hardheaded, strict, and tough on the outside, hell even on the inside, but he sure as shit didn't choose to be this way. I know that as soon as he realizes that the little girl that he used to love is back, he'll stop treating her as just an addition.

I know the rest of my brothers pretend they don't care but I see right through that bullshit. But it's all ok now. Lia's back and she'll adjust just fine to being back with us.

Now, driving down the coast, we passed by the beach. The large crowd gathered near a set of colorful tents visibly caught her eye as her gaze followed it.

"What's going on over there?" she asked, her voice curious.

Unconsciously a grin spread across my face before I could stop it. "That's the Surfside Classic."

"The what?" she asked, her brow furrowed.

"It's a surfing contest," I explained. "Biggest one around here, actually. And, just so you know, I've won it the last four years."
