Damon's room.
I pause, just in time to see a girl slip out. She's blonde, skinny and tall, resembling the figure of a model, and has golden glowing skin. She's honestly gorgeous.
Her red tank top fits tight on her and her shorts hang a little too low on her hips. She's tugging them back into place, smoothing them down.
My stomach convulses as it clicks. Oh my—
Her eyes flick up and catch mine. For a split second, neither of us moves.
Then her mouth twists, and she snaps, "What the fuck are you looking at?"
I blink, caught off guard at her rudeness, but before I can even open my mouth, she scoffs and walks past me, her steps strutting against the floor as she heads downstairs like she owns the place.
The sound of a door clicking shut makes me whip my head back. Damon steps out of the same room, hair a complete mess, shirt wrinkled, looking like he just rolled out of a fight with his sheets. Or her.
His eyes land on me instantly. They narrow. "What do you want?"
I narrow my eyes right back. He's always mad about something.
I fold my arms across my chest, forcing my face blank. "Your girlfriend's really friendly, by the way."
Damon lets out a short amused scoff, dragging a hand through his untamed hair. "I don't have a girlfriend."
I arch a brow. "So she's...?"
He shrugs, hair falling into his eyes, "Some girl. I don't see how it's any of your business though?"
I scoff. "Why do you always have to be such an asshole?"
He exhales sharply through his nose, almost like a laugh but not quite. "You just love starting shit, don't you?"
"Only when you make it so easy," I fire back quickly, but my voice comes out more snappy.
His lips twitch like he's fighting a smile, but his eyes stay cold.
I glare at him, my arms tightening across my chest. "I also don't see how my relationship with Mason is any of your business either."
That wipes the smirk off his face. His jaw tightens, eyes narrowing as he takes a step closer, voice dropping. "That's different."
I let out a dry laugh, shaking my head. "Of course it is. It always is with me, isn't it."
His eyes flash, and for a second there's that sharp edge again, the kind that makes you step back without realizing it.
"Don't push it, Gia," he mutters, close enough that I can catch the heat of his words. "You don't know shit about him."
I open my mouth, but he cuts me off, voice dropping even lower. "What, do you want a repeat of Kaiden? Is that what you're asking for?"
