Chapter 25:
(the pictures are what I think the rings would look like! The flowers are quite easy to picture x)

The ball was in 2 weeks. Since their engagement a lot had happened. Siobhan had already planned out a lot. The venue they were hosting the ball at was beautiful and big. Perfect in a way. Perfect for Roger that is..

Siobhan hated attention, she felt pressure and standards that she felt she couldn't meet but Roger didn't care. He only focussed on himself and her looking presentable. Perfect for him. All for him.

Lots of the difficult decisions had been taken care of already like; the venue, the guest list, the date, catering, entertainment etc.

They needed to find a dress, cake, flowers and rings.

They decided to go to the local florists first, they ponder over various bouquets and flowers but picked out some gorgeous black velvet petunias, black pansy and black irises for the tables. White roses with black tulips for Siobhan's bouquet, and black orchids for Siobhan's hair. They ordered them to be deliver at the venue for the day and payed.

They went out for lunch as they discussed more details; hair, makeup and photography etc. luckily Roger had many connection so these positions were easily filled. As there food arrived, Siobhan booked a wedding dress fitting. Siobhan had never looked emptier. Blank and emotionless.

Siobhan had a small salad, poking it around her plate. She had completely lost her appetite, she was too tired.

After lunch, they went to a near by ring shop 'diamond heaven'
Conversation struck between the seller and Roger. Siobhan hadn't smiled in weeks, her
demeanour like stone.

Rings upon rings lining the shelf, until Siobhan spotted two wedding bands. It brought comfort to her heart.

Gorgeous rings, rose gold band with diamond and blue gem embellishments. The blue reminded her of Viv, her one true love, the only person who understood and comforted her. A wedding band laying next to it, cold and matched the other ring perfectly, almost describing Roger.

R: ah Siobhan! I like your thinking, These ones are perfect, We'll take them!

Siobhan's stern shell cracked slightly into a soft smirk. At least on the day she could have a small sense of comfort. Though she had lost Viv, the comfort she brought Siobhan still lingered.
