"Uh, dude? Why did your hookup just text me asking to cover for her when James asks if we slept together?" Rosier asked. I paused as the water bottle hit my lips.
"What?" I replied. Lily giggled from her spot on the couch.
"What do you know?" Barty asked her. My phone pinged.
ara: for the sake of all that is good and holy, please help me lie to my roommates.
me: you're neither good nor holy.
ara: fuck you.
ara: please.
ara: james just assumed.
ara: ill beg, black. is that what you want?
me: you're already begging fox.
ara: thank you, you're the best.
ara: bringing sweets to say thank you!
"Just do it." I told Evan. His head snapped back to me.
"I'm sorry? You want me to fake see the girl you're kind of seeing but also not seeing?" Lily laughed harder.
"You guys are idiots!" She cackled. I turned back to Evan.
"I'm not seeing her." I told him.
"I saw your tongue down her throat last night." Barty reminded me. Evan pointed to him with a nod.
"My tongue was not- you know what? That is so not the point right now. Ara needs help, we're going to help her."
"We hardly know her."
"Didn't stop you from shamelessly flirting with her." He shrugged.
"Why're you so weird about this girl?" Barty asked. We all knew the answer. No one had to say it. She was connected to Sirius, who I missed more than anything I'd ever lost, but she was also the most beautiful and carefree woman I'd ever met in my life. She was perfect in every way. In a short period of time she began to convince me that there was more to life than skating and my parents approval. She saw me, even when I didn't want her to.
"I'm not. She's a friend." I told them.
"I don't stick my tongue-" I cut Evan off with a glare. He just grinned.
"And yes you do." I replied as I walked off to my room.
...
"Ara! Straighten your back!" Mcgonagall yelled. Ara did and continued her rant.
"Anyways," My hands moved to her hips for the lift. She let me throw her then continued. "He shows up at Mary's all freaked out and immediately accuses me of sleeping with Evan, I tried to deny it but he didn't believe me."
"You could have told him you'd come home with me."
"Oh yeah, that would have gone much better." Her words dripped with sarcasm as we skated to our finish. She posed with her arms up while one of mine wrapped around her waist, the other over my head. She took a deep breath.
"Again! Figure out your frame you two!" Mcgonagall yelled. We skated to first position.
"I'm just saying then you wouldn't be lying."
"I don't mind lying."
"Maybe I do."
"You don't." She twirled around me. It took everything in me not to twirl around to grab her.
"And how you know that?" I asked as she spun into my arms. She smirked.
"You still say you and Lily never happened." She replied as I spun her out.
