I gently pulled my arm out from under Ara that next morning.

"Why do you wake up for early?" She groaned, still half asleep.

"Why are you such a light sleeper?" I retorted.

"Live with my friends and ask me that again." Her eyes were open now, the blanket was pulled up so they were all I could see.

"No thank you." I told her.

"I've never spent this much time in a man's bed and not been hooking up with him." She joked. I rolled my eyes as she laughed.

"Do you want coffee?" I asked her, fighting the smile that played at the corners of my mouth. She nodded.

"I'll come out with you." She began to push the blanket down. I don't know what came over me, but I dove onto the bed and pulled it back up over her. She gave me a confused look.

"I'm fully dressed?" She took a shot in the dark. I nodded.

"You stay here." I told her. She raised an eyebrow at me. I sighed. "It's going to be messy out there, you don't deserve to get caught in the crossfire."

"I think I can handle a little sibling drama." She told me with a smirk.

"Fine, okay? I want you to stay here because when you step out of my room you get bombarded by my roommates and I want you to myself for just a little while longer." I admitted. She smiled. What the fuck was wrong with me? Why was I saying things like that to her? Worse yet, why did I mean it?

"Fine." I nodded and got up slowly from my bed.

"Reggie can I steal-" I cut Pandora off by holding up a hand.

"No."

"But-"

"No."

"Reggie!"

"Panda!" She glared at me. I shook my head. I shrugged. "No." She groaned and stomped off.

"Hey Reg, do you guys have practice today?" Evan asked. I checked the calendar.

"No, it's Saturday." A devilish smirk played on his lips.

"Mmm so you're free?" I stood still, like movement would tip him off to whatever he was planning.

"Mhm." I replied as I slowly reached for the coffee pot.

"Perfect! So you can come to the season opener tonight with Ara and Panda!" He cheered. I shook my head.

"No."

"I have it on very good authority Ara is already going."

"Good for her, I'm not."

"Reg, please."

"Ev, no."

"I'm your best friend."

"Yes you are."

"You've never watched me play."

"I know that."

"I thought you made up with Sirius!"

"I- it's... complicated." I grabbed three mugs from the cabinets, deliberately not turning around.

It wasn't just seeing Sirius, it was seeing the people he'd replaced me with. He found brothers in James, Remus and Peter and forgot all about the one he left behind. It was having to see them have a relationship I didn't think I was capable of having with my own brother anymore.

"Alright, fine." He caved. I slid him his mug of coffee.

"I'm sorry, Ev." I said as I turned around. He shrugged.
