petey: he left here with lily. they were all over each other. i'm sorry, a, but you deserved to know.

petey: i'll beat his ass.

"Yeah, alright." I replied as we both downed another beer. Remus raised his eyebrows.

"Wait, really?" I shrugged.

"I'm a terrible person, and an even worse friend, but he fucked Mary who is literally both of our exes so I feel like we can." I admitted. He nodded. We'd gotten that news earlier via James. That was what sparked the question in the first place.

"And he broke up with me." I pointed.

"And no one ever has to know." He smiled.

"Been a while, huh Fox?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up you once told me I was the best sex you ever had." He shrugged as he closed the distance between us.

"You were." His hand ran down the side of my body before settling on my hip and pulling us together.

"You were alright too."

"Guess I'll have to step up my game."

...

We laid next to each other, I rolled to look at him.

"Was that a mistake?" I asked. He shrugged.

"Probably, but it was a fun one." I laughed.

"A mistake I wouldn't mind making again tonight." He rolled his neck to look at me. His eyes scanned my body.

"A mistake I wouldn't mind making in the shower."

"Definitely wouldn't mind making it in the shower."

"Is shit gonna be weird when we go back home?" I shook my head.

"Nah."

We made the mistake again in the shower, and in the kitchen, and in the bed again. I was sure Regulus was doing the same with Lily and Sirius was doing the same with Mary, so my regrets disappeared around the second time.

"What if we just moved out here? Dropped out? I could still play hockey, coach maybe. You could skate, teach kids." He muttered while his head was buried in the crook of my neck.

"We'd be a mess, Rem."

"Who says? We could just hook up, see other people, just live away from everything." I tried to contain a moan as he kissed my neck.

"Yeah, we could." He looked up at me.

"You're like, actually sad about this whole Regulus thing." He pointed out. I blinked at him.

"You're like, actually sad about this whole Sirius thing." I retorted. He rolled his eyes.

"I deserved that." He sighed. "I've just never actually seen you sad about someone."

"Because I don't get sad about people."

"Because you don't let people in."

"I let you guys in."

"Yeah, but not romantically." I shrugged.

"A, you can let people in."

"Why? So they can leave? I mean seriously, Rem, this isn't your best example of why I should let people in."

"Maybe his feelings were hurt, I mean, you were ignoring him." I rolled my eyes. I'd gotten in my own head after talking to Rem. I'd only taken one other person to meet Effie and Monty and that left me broken.

"Not everyone is-" I stuck my hand up as I glared daggers at him.

"Don't. I know that. I'm so sick of everyone telling me that." He offered a sad smile.

"Then stop treating everyone like him."

unknown: miss you bestie

me: evan?

unknown: stole your number off reg's phone.

I rolled my eyes with a smile as I saved his number in my phone.

me: are we allowed to hang out?

ev: he's not my dad

ev: (yes he is but don't tell him that)

me: lmao i hate you. wanna watch movies tonight at mine? i have wine.

ev: bringing pizza, be there at 7?

me: can't wait.

"Rosier is coming over tonight." I told Rem as he drove. He gave me a confused look.

"Why?" I shrugged.

"He asked to hang out."

"It's weird you're friends with hockey players now. You've spent years avoiding them aside from us."

"Barty and Evan aren't like... hockey players though, they're like you guys."

"Most of the guys on the team are." I shrugged.

"Still don't like them."

When we pulled into the driveway I saw Evan's car parked on the street by the house.

"He's timely." Rem pointed out. I rolled my eyes.

"He's being a good friend."

"Hey, I know all about being a good friend." He told me with a wink as I bumped my hip to his while we grabbed our bags. A car pulled in behind Ev's, I looked up at Rem.

"Do we know that car?" I asked. He shook his head as we both watched it suspiciously. I heard her before I saw her.

"Ara Grace!" I took a deep breath.

"Astrid!" I rolled back as she ran up to hug me. I wrapped my arms around her tight as realization set in. "You're early."
