Next thing I knew we were stuck at a dinner with the post important people in my life. We sat across from James, who despite telling me he was fine with this was acting like he was anything but fine with this. Effie sat to my right, rambling about how good the boys played.

"Play any sports, Regulus?" Monty asked from beside Sirius, who perked up at the question.

"Yes sir, I skate with Ara."

"You didn't tell us you got a new partner, mija, what happed to Ted?" I smiled as I tried to keep up the vibe.

"He got a better offer. Pretty sure he's Olympic bound now." I replied as I stabbed the chicken on my plate.

"So are you cariñito." Monty told me. I forced a smile.

"Someday." Monty nodded at me firmly. He meant it, I know he did, but it seemed impossible these days.

"When do you compete?" James asked. I shook my head.

"Not for a few more months."

"So you skate, anything else?" Monty asked Regulus. He smiled awkwardly.

"Is there time for anything else?" He joked, Monty laughed.

"Do you work?" Effie asked. Regulus glanced to Sirius.

"No ma'am, my parents cover my expenses." He admitted with a guilty look on his face. I didn't know if it was because he didn't like admitting it at all, or just in front of Sirius. She hummed in response.

"So you focus on your studies?" She asked. He nodded immediately.

"Yes ma'am, not a lot of time for screwing around when you're pre-law and hoping to make it to the Olympics." She smiled, I knew she loved that answer but she wasn't anywhere near done.

"But you make time for Ara?" He looked at me for a moment.

"I'd drop everything for her." I mentally ran though the checklist of things Effie looked for in partners for us.

Handsome, check.

Latino, he was painfully white but so was I and she still loved me.

Caring, "He must worship the ground you walk on mija, you deserve that.", I heard her in my head before she'd sent me on my first date in school. I glanced at the boy sitting beside me.

Check.

He has to pay, annoying check.

"You dream of the Olympics?" Monty asked. Regulus nodded.

"Yes, sir."

They'd never dream get in the way of dreams and careers, even if they don't always coincide, check.

"Do you love her?" Effie asked. I choked on my water.

"Mamá! Dios mío no puedes decir eso." James and I scolded at the same time while Monty laughed.

"Just a question." She teased. I turned to Regulus.

"Clearly, she's lost it. I'm so sorry." I blushed. He smiled and leaned closer.

"Am I allowed to drink in front of your family?"

"Can we get six tequila shots, please?" Sirius answered for me as he intercepted our waiter.

...

Effie<3: I like him, mija.

Effie<3: He takes good care of you, I can tell. You're glowing.
