NO ONE'S POV

"What's the name of this dish?" Mikha asked with her mouth full of food as she looked at the girl who was busy watching her.

Aiah was just watching her old lover devour her cooked food like there was no tomorrow.

Who would have thought that after finding out that Mikha was alive this noon and being curious about her and her whereabouts, she would discover this evening that she was her neighbor?

Destiny was really doing its work.

Aiah was simply observing Mikha, familiarizing herself with every inch of her features.

She was analyzing her while her heart didn't beat at its normal pace since Mikha knocked on her door.

Itim na ang buhok ni Mikha, pero napapansin n'ya na may ilang tatlong pulang hibla nito.

"Quit staring at me, Woman." Mikha mumbled, feeling a bit awkward under the girl's gaze.

How nice it is to hear my name rolling off her tongue, Aiah thought to herself.

"Gutom na gutom ka ba?" Aiah asked, trying to dismiss the awkward look Mikha was giving her.

Napakunot naman ang noo ni Mikha sa narinig, trying to think about what Aiah was trying to say by imagining all the YouTube videos she had watched.

"Yes! I told you I don't know how to cook, and I don't want to eat instant or fast food either." Mikha answered with furrowed eyebrows.

Napangiti naman si Aiah.

So she still does this eyebrow thingy.

Aiah thought to herself again.

Mikha continued eating hanggang maubos n'ya ang creamy mushroom chicken that Aiah served.

"Thank you again. How can I make bawi to you?" Mikha asked while wiping her mouth and looking at Aiah, who was just staring at her.

Mikha didn't know what had gotten into her at nakipagtitigan din siya kay Aiah.

She's pretty, really pretty.

Mikha thought to herself as she looked at Aiah's face, from her eyes to her lips.

Napakunot ulit ang noo n'ya when she felt her heartbeat double, causing her to take her gaze away from Aiah and look at her chest.

What the hell, why is my heart beating this way?

She asked herself.

"A kiss will do." Aiah stated.

Napatingin naman sa kaniya si Mikha at mas lalong kumunot ang noo.

"Huh?" she asked again, checking kung tama ba ang rinig n'ya sa sinabi nito.

"You want to make bawi, right? A kiss on the cheek will do." Aiah said, smiling widely at Mikha.

Jusko po, mukha akong oportunista, pero namimiss ko ang halik n'ya. Sa cheeks lang naman ho, Lord.

Aiah thought to herself.

Mikha blinked a few times, clearly taken aback by Aiah's request.

She stared at her like she was trying to decode some hidden meaning behind those words, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"A... kiss on the cheek?" Mikha repeated, as if the concept itself was foreign to her now.

She was still trying to make sense of the sudden increase in her heart rate.
