Ch10 - The Devil's in the Details

While reviewing Noah's diary , I noticed many entries which were not making sense.

Like :
"Alan's been quite lately. Distant . Is he hiding something?"
" Mom's been acting strange too. Overly interested in dad's business. Keeps asking questions. "
"As I walked home today , I felt eyes upon me."

What does these all lines mean? Why Alan was quite? And according to Noah his mother was acting strange too. I have just met her once and I think that she is sweet. But is there something that I am not able to see!? Who was following Noah? Why he wrote that someone had eyes on him?
I have so many questions and I seriously don't know where to start from.

Just then Jenna messaged me: 'Hey, have you reached the airport safely? Are you on your way home?'

And then I realized that I haven't been to airport because of the diary and now its already late. So I messaged Jenna that I want to stay here a little longer and so I didn't leave today and suddenly I got an idea. I asked Jenna if she could meet me today. 
I asked her to meet me at the restaurant near my hotel. When i arrived , she was already sitting at a reserved table waiting for me.

"Hi Jenna"

"Hi , what's wrong? I thought you wanted to go back?"

"Umm actually its just I want to spend a little more time with you all."

"Oh ok"

We chatted for like an hour and then I came to the point which I wanted to ask but didn't wanted to make it obvious.

"So , how's his parents doing?"

"Whose , Noah's?"

"Yes"

"Fine but I haven't heard from them since a week. But why are asking about them suddenly? I thought you don't want to talk about him."

"I have realized that I can't keep running from him. He will always remain the love of my life. And I have actually met his mother once and I think that she is sweet."

"You met her!! Did Noah introduced you to her?"

"No , why?"

"Nothing.... Its just ... I don't think that she is sweet."

"Why not?"

"Noah never told you about his family problems , did he?"

"Family problems? No."

"The thing is that Noah's mother died when he was four and so his father remarried."

"So she is the step mother. But what's wrong?"

"Yes , she is the step mother and didn't like the fact that Mr. Haward Maxton (Noah's dad) had a son."

"Didn't she knew about Noah when she was getting married?"

"She did but he was only four and according to doctors his condition wasn't well. He was not ready to lose his real mother and then accept a new lady as his mother."

"And so his step mother thought that.....he will....die soon!!??"

"Yes."

"But he didn't."

"Yes"

"And so she started hating him?"

"Yes."

So his mother is indeed behind something realted to his death.

Next morning , I decided to meet Mrs. Maxton , so I went to her house.

The doorbell rang out.
A servant opened the door.
