FALLING IN LOVE AGAIN: UNEXPECTED MEET

Chapter 9

Jason's POV

Monday Morning

      The sound of a water splash was heard in a massive Kings size bathroom. Water was running on my body as I took my bath. After washing my body I started to wash my hair, I ran my hands into my hair while giving it a thorough scrub with shampoo. I enjoy scrubbing my hair, it gives me peace. Once I was done with that, I rinsed off the shampoo and scrubbed it lightly for the last cleansing. I poured water on it again and felt there wasn't any shampoo, it's clean now. I headed to my walking closets and dressed up.
             After doing all the essential things upstairs, I went downstairs to have breakfast.

        While Jeff was driving my recalled Saturday morning and what I said when Gwen asked me
" Why did you choose me?" She seemed curious
" You're beautiful, " I lied
" No! I'm not asking how I look. I said, "Why did you choose me?" She was getting frustrated.
    " You're beautiful, smart and talented. I chose you because you have lots of potential." I lied again
    " What do you mean by that? " She asked in curiosity
  " I can't explain but when I saw you I knew you were the one " I smiled and yes you are the one cause you'll be working for me, I said in my mind.
  
    Coming back to reality, I smirked. Stupid girl doesn't know what she's done to herself, I said in my mind.

Gwen's POV

   I'm so late for work, I said in my mind as I rushed out of the Uber i. My car broke down this morning on the highway so I had to call an Uber. I raced into the building and luckily for me the elevator opened. I entered swiftly and pressed the floor I'm heading to. The elevator stopped on the second floor, I walked to my office and tidied it. After cleaning my office, I sat down and gazed at the weather. It seemed cloudy and I sensed something terrible was going to happen. I shook off the weird feeling as I turned to my desk and viewed all the documents Senior Maya left last Friday. It took me long to finish my work after I made sure everything was in place and I headed out for Maya's office.
         Reaching her office, I knocked on her door and greeted her.
   " Ma, here are all the files you need" I placed them on her desk.
    " Thanks Gwen" Maya smiled
" I'll take my leave" I said
     " Ok dear" Maya said as I turned to walk out.

        It was lunch time, so I headed to the cafeteria. I was climbing the staircase when I heard someone voice
    " You know she's too naive" it was a lady voice
     " Yeah and now her work is stolen after all the efforts " another said
    " She deserves it cause she acts like she's the best" the voice sighed " you know I heard a rumor that she a design stealer "
  " Do you think so " the other sounded unsure
    " Yeah, even the new CEO said it and now her design isn't going to be used but Fay's design is going to be used for the film" the voice said.
     I wasn't sure about what they were saying but I know that the company only had one important project last week for the upcoming film. It can't be, I said as I didn't want to think about it. I entered the cafeteria and bought a sandwich and lemonade. After eating I headed back to my office. Just as I was about to have my sit, Maya barge in
    " Gwen, your presence is needed " Maya said
    Great! I exclaimed in my mind. I followed her but we weren't going to her office. We entered the elevator and stopped at the 7th floor, okay this isn't what I expected.
    " The CEO wants to see you" Maya looked disappointed.
    " Ok" I said but she turned around and left. I knocked on the door and I heard
   " Come in"
   I was getting goosebumps all over my body, I haven't stolen any design and all designs I made were from my imagination.
   I greeted the CEO, who was using the back of her chair to face me.
   " We finally met again " the chair turned and revealed the lady I slapped at KTU restaurant.
    " Do you remember my face " she smirked
      " I sure remember exactly slapping that face of yours" I grinned lightly.
   " How dare you" she stood up from her seat and pointed at me.
       I wasn't here for nonsense so I said " where the hell is the CEO"
     "Can't you see you're in my office" she looked irritated
    " Nope, I don't see anything and where the hell is the CEO" I said in rage
   " If you continue to talk more than yourself, you'll be fired" she said
    I calmed myself down, I didn't want to lose my job.
     " Ma, you called me here " I said politely
    " You know that day you slapped me, I vowed to make sure you pay for your sins" smiling " Yes, you are right. I called you here to tell you your stay in my company is not needed " she smirked.
   " Is that so ?" I questioned her
" Yeah " she said.
    " You're still a bitch, I'll take my leave and FYI I know you know that I'm better than you " she raised her hands to slap me but I caught it and gave her a befitting slap.
    " You need that"  I walked out of her office and headed to my office.
    When I returned to my office, I saw Maya inside
    " What did she say to Gwen?" Maya said
  "I'll be leaving the company. " I packed my stuff into a carton. I know I've only worked for this company for three months and now I lost my job.

  After relaxing at home, I remembered that Max wanted to see me. I called him and he told me where we would meet up.
      
       I was seated in Sonia restaurant waiting for my brother, as I was waiting I saw some couples ahead of me feeding each other. That stinks, I said in my mind.
Then I heard a voice say " sorry for making you wait Godzilla"
  It was Max, I smiled at him
     " It's ok" I grinned " get your ass on the seat douchebag"
   " Yeah," he said, " something seems odd today." he said.
   " Nothing seems odd," I said.
" You always close from work at 6pm, what happened today?" He sounded concerned
  "Ok here's the whole ordeal " I told him how I met her at a restaurant, how my ex current girlfriend is my CEO and how she fired me.
   " That's epic and sorry" he said
  " Don't be so what's your deal" I asked
" Oh! I almost forgot about it" he scratched his forehead " there's a powerful man who deals with drugs and trafficking young women, he's being on the FBI list for years but we don't have evidence to prove that he's a criminal " he said
   " Ok, how does it relate to me " I raised my brow
   " Come on Gwen, you're still an agent " he said
   " FYI I'm an ex agent " I said
  " Fine but yor you're the best for this job" he tried to convince me
  " You know Max, I want a normal life and I don't want to be associated with the agency again " I said
      " I've sent a lot of people on this mission but it has been fruitless. And you are filled with lots of potential, I didn't want to meet you for this but you're my last hope. Gwen please help me out " he pleaded and placed a file on the table
   " Please think about this. '' He walked out with his hands in his pocket.
     I heard a beeping sound, It was my phone. I glanced at it and saw a message from Jess,
       Hey there, I'll be coming home late and I've got a lot of work piled up on my desk. Don't wait for me for dinner.
    
      I left the restaurant and headed home.
