this was weird — waking up next to mike in her bed and preparing breakfast together in between conversations in her apartment. weird, so weird after avoiding him like the plague.

it was weird to flutter her eyes open to feel his embrace, his arms still so tightly around her that it almost seemed like he wanted to prevent her from anxiously waking up in the night and feel alone.

it was weird to stand together in her kitchen, talking about everything and nothing while el was making scrambled eggs and mike was setting up the table for breakfast.

it was weird to see him sit on her couch with lu comfortably nestled on his lap while he was absentmindedly petting her with one hand and was texting to someone on his phone with the other.
