The fugitive

The next morning I woke up to find Rafe but instead I found Wheezy.

"Where's Rafe," I asked.

"He's going to stop dad's plane so he can go to the Bahamas instead of Sarah on a business trip," she said.

"And he just left me," I asked.

"He told me to keep an eye on you he's worried," she said "said you had an anxiety attack yesterday."

"Oh well," I said "do you want to go back to the house. I feel weird being here without Rafe."

"Ya let's go," she said.

Once we got to the house Rose was outside in the garden and wheezy and I decided to go out by the pool. She was swimming and I was just sunbathing. Next thing I know Sarah comes out and is losing her mind.

"Rafe killed sheriff Peterkin," she screams.

"Sarah that's not funny," I say sitting up.

"Well it's not a joke he really did it," she said "he was going to arrest my dad for John B's dad's murder."

"I don't believe you," I said "that's not something Rafe would even do. Meanwhile your boyfriend and his friends are pulling guns and robbing everyone on the island."

"Are you serious right now," Sarah yelled "you're going to trust your boyfriend of what five minutes over your best friend since elementary school."

"My boyfriend isn't the one acting out of character lately," I snapped "my boyfriend didn't just decide to cheat on their boyfriend with a pogue and start robbing drug dealers."

"No he just does them," she yelled at me "making him do psycho things like kill someone."

"He has never acted psychotic with me," I defended "you lied to Topper about John b how do I know you're not lying to me about Rafe."

"Dani why would I lie about my brother being a killer," she yelled.

"Rafe is many things but to kill someone," Wheezy interjected "Sarah that's just way out of no where."

She stormed back inside and I followed her.

"Sarah what the hell is happening to you," I yelled "you're acting insane lately."

"Me?!," she yelled "You're defending a killer right now over your best friend and I'm insane. I watched him shoot her Danielle I'm not just pulling this out of thin air!"

"Sarah we need to talk," Ward said ushering her to her room.

"Um Dani," Rafe said walking up behind me "we need to talk to."

"Okay," I said following him into his room.

"So," he said starting to tear up "I did something bad."

I gulped "Rafe please tell me you didn't."

"She was going to shoot my dad," he said crying and then sitting on the bed.

I sat next to him and held him "so you were protecting your dad."

"Yes," he said "and I understand if you want to leave me."

"Hey," I said "no one said that. But I do owe Sarah an apology because she tried to tell me and I accused John B."

He tried to laugh but was still sobbing "what does this mean for us."

I rubbed his back "it means we'll figure it out I just need you to not kill anyone else."

He put his head in my lap "yes ma'am."
