"Hey guys, do you think Dad knows we love him?" Galaxy questioned, catching the others off guard. "You think he knows that? Very unlikely actually, this is the Professor we're talking about." Assistant pointed, with Rainbow nodding in agreement. They all know that Prof. Favre is quite oblivious to even the simplest of emotions.
Assistant can't count how many times he has caught the Professor pretending to be happy for their sake.
"The only time I ever seen the Professor react to anything is pain and I called him out on it so many times by calling him a masochist." Rainbow casually and most bluntly commented, causing the others to look at him dumbfounded, except TFC who chuckles in response while playing a game on the switch he had.
"The scary part is that Rainbow isn't wrong." TFC pointed out, which made the others groan in response. None of them wanted actual confirmation from TFC of all beings, but alas. "Also why do you guys want to know if he loves you guys or not?" It instead questioned, Galaxy shrugged, none of them really thought too much about it, but at the same time– they were curious.
Curious to know if Prof. Favre cared about them at all or not. Considering, well, they are his creations, besides TFC of course. He's Ry'quest creation.
Although...
"Even if Prof. Favre doesn't love us, we can always try and remind him whenever we can that we love him as family." Rainbow pointed out, the others looked at him in surprise. "Rainbow, we were unaware that you even cared at all." Assistant questioned, Rainbow wasn't sure if he should be offended or not, but he chose to throw a book at Assistant in response anyways. "Haha. Very funny, sure I hated Professor back then, but slowly but surely over the years I grew fond of the Professor, no matter how much I didn't want to." He admitted as he leaned back against the couch.
Only to suddenly steal the switch from TFC, much to his surprise–
"TFC, why are you playing a farming simulator with dating mechanics?" Rainbow questioned, utterly confused as TFC snatched the device from him. "It was one of the games that Prof. Favre told me, "It would be rude not to give it a try and I ended up getting addicted to the farming mechanics." TFC answered with a huff as they got back into the game, the others just stared at them, contemplating on telling them that there's a computer with his name on it or not.
They decided not to, it would prove to be hilarious later.
But alas, the conversation died down as they all contemplated what to do anymore. They really have no idea if their love and care for Prof. Favre as their creator and parent, essentially, would be accepted or not. Even if it was, it was difficult to tell if the Professor even cared in the first place.
But that brings them their next question.
What exactly is love in the first place?
"A confusing emotion this may be, but it can also be mistaken for something so much worse." Assistant commented as they checked their data on their latest research, the others hummed in agreement. "And Love is something we all seeked, whether we get it through kind means or through the harshest pain possible, it is easy to twist such a thing anyways." TFC answered, mostly uninterested as they were busy with their game, but even they were curious about it.
Of course, in the end, none had the answers that they wanted.
Nor could they ever truly understand such a thing in the first place, even for Rainbow who's research touched upon the concepts of emotions and feelings. In the end, they simply just agreed that they would continue to treat Prof. Favre the same way they always have, after all, what more could they ask?
Well, besides asking Prof. Favre to stop drinking poison and dying on purpose, but that's only just wishful thinking really. None of them want to know or understand the 'Respawn' mechanics in the first place.
