CHAPTER 1

Personal log, commander shinji ikari, April 14 2560

The dreamkeeper has been given a mission to search for the remnants of the infinity or what was left of it, we were told to at least find something, from our former flagship, its ironic as the UNSC is now scrambling to take the other infinity-class supercarrier which they stripped for parts to complete the namesake, to get it up and running as soon as possible, while also hoping the infinity herself was operational enough to fly, I'm not holding my breath on that one

Still, i do have some hope to find and recover the infinity, I was given a new smart AI in case roland was no longer operational, it'd be a godsend if he was though, his help getting the ship moving would be so much easier for all involved

"Captain, we think we found something, it's large enough to be the infinity, but we are never this lucky to find her completely intact" the intelligence officer said

"Well, if that's that case, we'll get on the horn and call in the cavalry, the UNSC will tow the damn thing if necessary" I said

"Get a team together, I want to make sure the infinity is clear of hostiles, and prepare to dock the dreamkeeper into the hanger of the infinity" I said

"Sir" the intelligence officer said

"It's a good hiding place, in case unwelcome company show up, we are only a light frigate remember" I said

"Yes sir" he said, the security escorted me to the bridge, I walked over to a terminal, and started activating whatever I could

"The ship is under evacuation, what are you doing" a voice said, I smiled

"Roland, I'm commander shinji ikari, the infinity has been lost for nearly a year, the battle is over, and we are trying to recover her" I said

"Oh, sorry, commander, captain lasky shut me down before evacuating himself, orders sir" he asked

"The only crew we have is a frigate complement, can you supplement us" I asked

"Affirmative sir, but the infinity will not be able to effectively enter combat" he said

"We aren't looking for a fight, can this ship still jump to slipspace" I asked

"Uh, yes sir, but it will be a bit dangerous due to the damage inflicted, leaving the translight engine out of alignment, i can't guarantee a safe journey" he said

"Give me a percentage" I asked

"There is a 72.461% chance we will be fine" he said

"Good enough, commander if you would relay our course, I'd like to be gone as soon as possible, this is banishrd territory i want to be far away from banished territory" I said

The ships engines slowly came back online and we were moving

"Entering slipspace now" rolan announced as the ship moved into slipspace, i sighed in relief that nothing terrible was going wrong, just when sirens started blaring, and i cursed myself for jinxing it

"Report" I ordered

"Unknown energy field is messing with the translight engine, it's changing our trajectory, I don't know where we are going" the intelligence officer said

"Show me" I said, as she pulled up data on the field which I recognized almost immediately

"AT-field" I snarled

"All hands brace for impact" I shouted, as the ship was thrown out of slipspace, just as the inertial dampeners effective died, and through us all over the bridge knocking everyone unconscious
