Keith was not disappointed, shinji ikari was a master, keith had several sparing matches at this point and hasn't one a single one, allura seeing keith of all people falter took on shinji herself, she couldn't beat him either

He even agreed to take them on together, and they still lost badly

"Your not a kid, there is just no way" allura said

"You'd still have a tough time with my fifteen year old self, that was just after the angel war ended, at that point, I was used to taking on foes stronger than I was

"How old are you, if i may ask" keith asked

"I turned fifty-four last week" I said

"Your old enough to be my dad" keith said, he was only thirty-two, I shrugged

"Well, my own people betrayed and cursed me, so for all intents and purposes, I'm seventeen again" I said

"That sounds like a blessing" allura said

"They made me live for ten thousand years" I said, her eyes widened

"How" she said

"Like I said, they cursed me, one of the effects was deaging, it wasn't the only effect, and even if it was the way they did it was reckless and dangerous and could have gotten just myself but also all of them killed too" I said

"So you left because they cursed you" keith said, I shook my head

"No, i could live with that, hell, I did live with that, No, it was what they were asking me to do, that made me flee" I said

"What did they want" she asked

"I am a military officer, i started out drafted as a child soldier, then I became a pseudo mercenary, then I went back to service, and I served faithfully, to the point, i was granted the rank of admiral, and I led a fleet, a decently large fleet, but nothing huge" I said

The group nodded

"I was separated from my fleet, with only my gundan for support, as j helped another army fight off, what should have been a much smaller and therefore easier force, the enemy was however much more advanced then the alliance in most cases, I fought for them, and it reminded me why I serve, my fleet soon arrived bringing my past with them, but they had grown, ludicrously, they were big enough to be a full army, as they gathered forved from various different places, they wanted to takd this army and use it against a very powerful enemy and his own army, sure i can do that" I said, the group were getting confused, they couldn't see the issue especially when he said he could do it

"The enemy, or rather the empire, as they are called, would be a tough fight, and they wanted to rally the natives they needed a symbol, someone to take over once our little invasion was over" I said

"They wanted you to be king" allura said

"Yes" I said

"Hold on a minute, your a soldier, what do you know about ruling a nation" lance said

"Next to nothing, I've learned what not to do, and that's about it" I said

"So you left" pidge said

"So I left, and I found myself here, I was surprised no one noticed my crash landing

"We thought you were junk, and since you landed where you did, and there were no power signatures we figured, what's it matter" pidge said

"Fair enough" I said

"Will they look for you" she asked

"Oh, no doubt, but i have some time yet, they need to send a ship that can transport my gundam, they will likely send an NHG series, once they are done messinf with it that is" i said

"And what will you do" keith asked

"Run and hide" I said simply they looked at him sympathetically

"How bad is this empire" she asked

"Let's put it this way, their rebellion is about the size of a medium fleet, and they have apparently built a planet destroying superweapon and now that its destroyed their gonna build another one" I said, their eyes widened in horror at that

"Like I said, i don't mind fighting the war, been there done that with the damn covenant, I just i don't want to be a ruler and I don't want to be a figurehead, if i have to run for the rest of my life just for freedom then so be it" i said
