REPEATED MISTAKES
Chapter 2: Sarah TannerAt 5:30, Sarah's alarm rang loudly. She rolled over, too tired to get up, but she knew she had to. As she looked at the clock, her thoughts wandered to Tony. What happened last night? Her memory was hazy.
She slowly got out of bed, slipped on her Hello Kitty slippers, and shuffled to the bathroom. After a quick shower and brushing her teeth, it was already 6:00 AM.
While dressing, she changed her outfit three times, laughing softly to herself when she realized she'd put on weight.
"Good morning, Sarah. You look beautiful, especially in my favorite color," Tony said suddenly.
Sarah gave him a puzzled look. "When did I tell you my name?"
"You told me last night," he replied smoothly.
"No, I didn't," she insisted.
Tony smirked and stared into her eyes. "You told me a lot about yourself, Sarah Tanner."
Sarah frowned. "And why do you look younger?"
Tony didn't respond. Instead, he walked out of the kitchen with a steaming cup of black coffee.
"Where did you even get those new clothes you're wearing?" she called after him, still baffled.
"Stupid girl," Travis muttered loudly from across the room. For some reason, Sarah didn't react. She just laughed.
Then came a knock at the door. Sarah walked slowly to open it.
"Hi, baby," Travis said as he stepped inside. He was in his mid-thirties, tall and well-built, the middle child with both a younger and older brother.
Sarah folded her arms and stared at him, unimpressed. "Why didn't you call last night?"
"I did! Several times, actually. You didn't pick up," he said, showing her his call log. "I should be the one who's angry." He slid past her into the house.
Confused, Sarah went upstairs to grab her phone, eager to prove him wrong. But to her surprise, the missed calls were there. How? she thought. Checking the time of the call, she realized it had come in during her conversation with Tony.
Slowly, she walked back downstairs. "I'm sorry, darling," she murmured.
Travis turned dramatically, pretending he hadn't heard, just so she'd say it again. He was dressed in a sharp black suit, one hand in his pocket, the other stroking his chin.
Sarah laughed, hugging him from behind, and repeated, "I'm sorry, darling."
Travis, never one to miss a chance to tease her, smirked. "I forgive you, but not because you apologized. It's because you're wearing my favorite color."
They both left the house together. "Still stupid children," Tony muttered to himself as they walked out the door.
