Wonbin leaned against the cool library wall, flipping through a few pages of a textbook, but his mind was elsewhere. He watched the students around him, each absorbed in their own worlds. His gaze settled on a familiar figure—Juhee. She sat at a table, her brows furrowed in concentration, surrounded by notes and textbooks.

He couldn't help but notice the way she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her lips pressed into a thin line as she focused intently on her work. There was an intensity about her that caught his attention, though he wasn't sure why. He preferred to keep his distance from the chaos of emotions that accompanied others.

As if sensing his gaze, Juhee looked up. Their eyes met across the room, and for a fleeting moment, the noise of the library faded into silence. Her expression shifted, surprise flickering across her face before she quickly looked down, breaking the connection.

Wonbin's expression remained impassive as he returned to the textbook, attempting to refocus on the material. He didn't care to analyze the way her gaze had lingered on him; he didn't have the time or inclination to sort through the implications of it. He was here for one reason: to keep his grades up and graduate.

After a few minutes, he glanced back at her table. Juhee was scribbling notes again, her brow furrowed with determination. He found himself watching her, but it annoyed him. She was just another student trying to navigate the same pressures he faced.

As the library began to fill with more students, he stood up, ready to leave the study area behind. He couldn't shake the feeling that she was a distraction he didn't need.

As he walked past Juhee's table, he stole one last glance at her. She caught his eye again, but this time, her gaze was steady, almost defiant, as if she were daring him to acknowledge her presence.

Wonbin turned away, irritation bubbling just beneath the surface. This wasn't how he operated. He didn't seek connections, nor did he want the complications that came with them. He had enough on his plate without adding someone like her into the mix. As he exited the library, he dismissed the encounter as he would any fleeting thought that dared to linger.
