The tension between Juhee and Wonbin had become an unspoken part of campus life for both of them. With each passing day, Juhee felt the weight of unexpressed emotions pressing down on her. She had tried to focus on her studies and ignore the flicker of curiosity that ignited each time their paths crossed, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.

As midterms approached, Juhee found herself drowning in assignments and exam prep. Late nights in the library became her routine, and she often lost track of time, surrounded by textbooks and notes. The pressure was immense, but it also offered a sense of escape from her thoughts about Wonbin and her family's expectations.

One evening, as she was immersed in her studies, Juhee felt a familiar presence nearby. She glanced up to find Wonbin at a table across from her, absorbed in a book but within her line of sight. For a moment, their eyes met, and a flicker of recognition passed between them. Juhee's heart raced, and she quickly returned to her notes, trying to quell the surge of emotions that threatened to spill over.

But as the hours wore on, the silence between them felt increasingly charged. Juhee tried to concentrate, but her thoughts kept drifting back to him. What did he think of her? Did he feel the same weight of tension that hung in the air whenever they were near each other?

As if reading her mind, Wonbin suddenly stood up and walked toward the exit. Juhee watched him go, a sense of disappointment washing over her. Just as she thought he might break the silence between them, he vanished into the bustling hallway.

That night, Juhee returned to her room, feeling more isolated than ever. She plopped down on her bed, her mind racing with thoughts of her brother's resentment, her own expectations, and the unresolved connection with Wonbin. In an attempt to distract herself, she reached for her phone and texted Karina.

Hey, want to grab coffee tomorrow? I need a break from studying!

Karina replied almost instantly, eager to meet up. They agreed to meet at their favorite café the next afternoon, a small place tucked away from the chaos of campus life. Juhee felt a glimmer of excitement as she thought about spending time with her best friend, hoping it would alleviate some of the heaviness that had settled in her chest.

The next day, as Juhee sipped her coffee and caught up with Karina, she tried to shake the lingering thoughts of Wonbin. They chatted about classes, gossip, and the upcoming weekend, but her mind kept wandering back to the mysterious boy who had somehow wormed his way into her thoughts.

"Are you okay? You seem a bit distracted," Karina asked, her brows furrowing with concern.

Juhee hesitated, unsure of how to articulate her feelings. "I don't know, it's just... school is stressful, and there's this guy I can't stop thinking about."

Karina's eyes lit up with interest. "A guy? Spill the tea! Who is he?"

Juhee shrugged, her cheeks warming at the thought of discussing Wonbin. "It's complicated. He's just someone I've noticed around campus."

"Just someone?" Karina teased, leaning closer. "Come on, you can tell me more than that! What's he like?"

Juhee hesitated, caught between wanting to share and the desire to keep her thoughts private. "He's... interesting. Mysterious, I guess. He just seems so different from everyone else."

"Different how?" Karina pressed, her curiosity piqued.

Juhee sighed, knowing she couldn't fully articulate the depth of her feelings. "He's just really cold and distant. But there's something about him that pulls me in."

Karina nodded, a knowing smile on her face. "Sounds like a classic case of the mysterious bad boy. You should talk to him!"

"Yeah, right," Juhee scoffed, rolling her eyes. "As if I could just walk up to him and start a conversation. It's not that easy."

"You won't know unless you try! You're too smart to let a little fear hold you back," Karina encouraged, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

Juhee appreciated her friend's support but felt a sense of dread at the thought of confronting Wonbin. The idea of approaching him felt daunting, and she wondered if she was even ready to confront her own emotions.

As they finished their coffee and prepared to leave, Juhee caught sight of Wonbin walking past the café window, engrossed in his phone. Her heart skipped a beat, and she felt an urge to call out to him, to bridge the gap that had grown between them. But the moment passed, and he disappeared from view, leaving her feeling more unsettled than ever.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Karina asked, noticing Juhee's expression.

"Yeah, I just... I guess I'm still figuring things out," Juhee replied, forcing a smile.

As they left the café, Juhee couldn't shake the feeling that her world was shifting, the boundaries of her life becoming increasingly blurred. With each passing day, the connection with Wonbin pulled at her, urging her to confront her feelings and the uncertainties that lay ahead.
