Three years had passed since Juhee had faced the emotional turmoil of her family's conflicts and the sudden disappearance of Wonbin from her life. Time had a way of healing wounds, and she found herself in a new chapter, one filled with promise and growth. She had secured a job at a local marketing company, and although the transition had its challenges, she was finding her footing.

Seunghan had also made strides in his life, now working as a resident in a nearby hospital, specializing in neurology. The two of them had forged a deep friendship over the months, their bond blossoming into a comfortable routine. He would pick her up after work, and together they would venture out for dinner, often exploring new restaurants around the city.

On this particular evening, the air was warm, and the sky was painted with hues of orange and pink as the sun set. Juhee finished up her tasks at the office, excitement bubbling within her at the thought of seeing Seunghan. He always had a way of making her laugh, and she looked forward to their time together.

As she stepped out of the building, she spotted Seunghan leaning against his car, a smile breaking across his face when he saw her. He was dressed casually in a navy polo and khaki pants, his hair tousled in a way that made him look effortlessly handsome.

"Hey, there you are! I was starting to think I'd have to send out a search party," he teased, opening the passenger door for her.

"Sorry! The meeting ran longer than I expected," Juhee replied, sliding into the seat. "What's on the menu tonight?"

"Found a new Italian place. I heard they have the best pasta in town," Seunghan said as he started the engine.

Juhee grinned, her stomach rumbling at the thought of a hearty meal. As they drove, they exchanged stories about their day, laughter filling the car. Seunghan shared anecdotes from the hospital, and Juhee talked about the quirky clients she had to manage at work.

Arriving at the restaurant, the aroma of freshly baked bread greeted them as they stepped inside. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and the gentle clinking of glasses. They were quickly seated, and after browsing the menu, they settled on their orders.

Over dinner, they delved into deeper conversations, discussing their dreams and aspirations. Juhee found herself opening up more to Seunghan, sharing her hopes for her career and life in general. He listened intently, offering encouragement and insights that made her feel valued.

As they finished their meal, Seunghan leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "You know, it's really nice to have someone like you in my life," he said, sincerity lacing his words. "I didn't realize how much I needed a friend until you came along."

Juhee felt her cheeks warm at his compliment. "I feel the same way. It's great to have someone who understands what I'm going through," she admitted.

After they settled the bill, they decided to take a walk to a nearby park. The night air was cool and refreshing, and the stars twinkled above them like tiny diamonds. They strolled side by side, the atmosphere charged with a comfortable intimacy that had developed over the past year.

As they reached the park, Juhee noticed a small pond illuminated by soft lights. They wandered over to it, and Seunghan stopped, gazing at the water.

"Do you remember when we first met?" he asked, breaking the serene silence.

"Of course! You saved me from falling in the library," she laughed, recalling their initial encounter.

"Yeah, and I thought, 'Wow, she's really something.'" Seunghan looked at her, a hint of seriousness in his expression. "I'm glad I bumped into you that day."

Juhee felt her heart race slightly at his words. "Me too," she said softly, her gaze dropping to the ground.

For a moment, the air between them shifted, filled with unspoken tension. Juhee's thoughts raced as she considered the depth of their friendship and what it could potentially become.

Seunghan stepped a little closer, a thoughtful expression on his face. "You know, I really enjoy spending time with you, Juhee. I just-" he began, but he hesitated, as if weighing his next words carefully.

Before he could continue, Juhee's phone buzzed in her pocket, breaking the moment. She pulled it out, glancing at the screen. It was a message from Jaehyun, asking her to come home soon.

"I should probably head back," she said, a hint of disappointment in her voice as she tucked her phone away.

Seunghan nodded, his demeanor shifting slightly. "Yeah, of course. Let's get you home."

As they walked back to the car, Juhee couldn't shake the feeling that something significant was hanging in the air, something that could change the course of their friendship. But for now, she pushed those thoughts aside, grateful for the bond they had built and the new experiences waiting for her in the future.
