The days that followed were a blur for Juhee. She immersed herself in work, trying to distract herself from the heartache that lingered after her conversation with Seunghan. Every time her phone buzzed with a message, her heart skipped a beat, only to feel a pang of disappointment when it wasn't from him. She missed their playful banter, the ease with which they shared their thoughts, and the warmth of his presence.

At the office, she found solace in her tasks, pouring herself into projects that kept her mind occupied. But in quiet moments, when the world slowed down, her thoughts inevitably wandered back to Seunghan. She couldn't shake the feeling that something profound had shifted between them, and it left her feeling unmoored.

Meanwhile, Seunghan seemed to be maintaining his distance. He was polite but reserved whenever they crossed paths, his easy smile replaced by a more cautious demeanor. Juhee often found herself looking for him, hoping to catch a glimpse of the carefree guy she had grown so fond of. But each time she saw him, a bittersweet ache settled in her chest.

One evening, as Juhee sat in her small apartment, a familiar pang of loneliness washed over her. She flipped through her phone, scrolling past pictures of happier times with Seunghan. She remembered their spontaneous outings, the way they would get lost in conversations for hours, and how comfortable they had felt in each other's company. Now, all she had were memories.

In a moment of impulse, she decided to reach out to him. She typed and deleted messages several times before finally settling on a simple, "Hey, how have you been?" Her finger hovered over the send button for a long moment, and finally, she pressed it, sending the message into the void.

Days passed, and just as she began to lose hope, her phone buzzed. A message from Seunghan appeared, and her heart raced. "I've been busy with work, but I'm okay. How about you?"

Juhee felt a mixture of relief and anxiety. She responded, detailing her week, trying to keep the tone light and friendly. To her surprise, he replied promptly, and their conversation flowed more naturally than she had expected. It was refreshing to reconnect, even if the underlying tension remained.

As they exchanged messages, Juhee found herself laughing at his jokes and reminiscing about their past adventures. It felt good to share a moment of normalcy, but she couldn't shake the feeling that they were still walking on eggshells around each other.

After a few days of back-and-forth messages, Seunghan suggested they meet for coffee. Juhee's heart raced at the thought. She felt a flicker of hope, but also apprehension. Was this a chance to rekindle their friendship, or would it only serve to remind them of the unresolved feelings that loomed over them?

On the day of their meeting, Juhee dressed carefully, wanting to strike the right balance between casual and put-together. She chose a simple blue dress that complimented her figure and a light cardigan, hoping to project an air of confidence. As she walked to the café, her heart raced, a mixture of excitement and anxiety bubbling within her.

When she arrived, Seunghan was already there, seated at a corner table. He looked up and smiled, a genuine warmth in his eyes that made her heart flutter. She noticed the subtle changes in him-he seemed more grounded, yet there was still a hint of hesitation in his demeanor.

"Hey," she greeted, sliding into the seat across from him. "Thanks for meeting me."

"Of course," he replied, his smile softening the edges of her anxiety. "I've missed our talks."

Juhee smiled, the tension in her shoulders easing. "Me too. It feels like ages since we've hung out."

As they caught up, the conversation flowed easily, and for a while, it felt like nothing had changed. They shared stories about work, their aspirations, and the little things that made them laugh. Yet, despite the lighthearted banter, the air between them crackled with unspoken words.

Just as Juhee felt comfortable enough to broach the topic of their last conversation, Seunghan's expression shifted. "So, I've been thinking," he started, his tone serious. "About what we talked about before."

Juhee's heart raced, and she braced herself for whatever he was about to say. "Yeah?"

"I don't want to keep pretending that nothing happened between us," he said, his voice steady. "I think we owe it to ourselves to at least acknowledge it."

Her breath caught in her throat. "I feel the same way," she admitted, her heart pounding. "But I also don't want to jeopardize what we have."

Seunghan leaned forward, his eyes locking onto hers. "Maybe it doesn't have to be one or the other. We could take it slow and see where things go. I just don't want to lose you."

Juhee felt a wave of relief wash over her. "I don't want to lose you either."

With the weight of their conversation hanging between them, they decided to take a chance, to explore the feelings that had been simmering beneath the surface. As they left the café, Juhee felt a renewed sense of hope. Perhaps this was the beginning of a new chapter for them, one filled with possibilities and, hopefully, a love that would withstand the test of time.
