Ch 6 : The Unexpected Collision

It was a warm evening in Mumbai, and Rudransh Suryawanshi was definitely not in the mood to deal with more nonsense. His day had been a disaster. The project his company had been working on was full of mistakes, his employees seemed to have lost their minds, and to top it off, his biological mother, Anjali, had shown up with her husband, Vikram Malhotra. The sight of them together had stirred up old wounds, leaving him restless and furious.

Deciding he needed some air, Rudransh did something out of character-he went for a walk. Walking through the bustling streets of Mumbai usually wasn't his style, but today, he needed a break from his office and everything else.

On the other side of the street, Aarya Kapoor was having a completely different kind of day. Her mind was on her workday shenanigans and weekend plans. Clumsy as always, she was multitasking-texting on her phone, digging through her bag, and humming to herself.

And then, in the middle of this perfect chaos, it happened.

Aarya, not paying attention, bumped hard into someone. Her shoulder hit what felt like a wall, and her phone nearly flew out of her hand.

Aarya (hurriedly): "Oh shoot, I'm sorry.

"Seriously?" came a sharp, annoyed voice. "Do you even watch where you're walking?"

Aarya blinked up at the man she had just run into. He was tall, sharp-featured, and glaring down at her like she had committed some unforgivable sin. The expensive suit, the angry eyes-this was clearly someone who thought very highly of himself.

"Excuse me?" Aarya shot back, quickly recovering from the shock. "Are you always this charming or is today just special?"

Rudransh narrowed his eyes. "Oh, I get it. You were on your phone, not paying attention, and now you're going to act like it's my fault."

Aarya crossed her arms, her irritation rising. "Oh please, Mister Grumpy. You think I went out of my way to crash into you? I have better things to do than plot coffee-shop-level meet-cutes."

Rudransh  brows furrowed. "You people always do this. Acting careless and then pretending it's not your fault."

"'You people'? Wow, nice. You sound like you're straight out of some old school soap opera. What's next? Are you going to accuse me of sabotaging your day because I spilled invisible coffee on you?" Aarya shot back, sarcasm dripping from her voice.

Rudransh was taken aback by her boldness. Most people either stuttered in fear or apologized profusely when they ran into him, but this girl? She wasn't backing down.

"You have no idea who I am, do you?" he said, his voice is lower now, almost dangerous.

Aarya raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Oh, I'm sorry, should I bow or something? You're acting like you're the king of Mumbai. Let me guess, your royal highness got upset because a mere mortal dared to enter your walking path?"

He was fuming now. "Watch your tone."

"Or what? You'll file a police complaint for 'walking violation'? Good luck with that," she smirked, enjoying the way his irritation was getting worse.

Just as Rudransh opened his mouth to throw back a retort, Aarya's phone rang. She glanced at the screen, barely holding back a laugh. "Oh, hold that thought," she said, answering the call. "Hi, yeah, no, nothing serious. Just bumped into someone who thinks he's God's gift to the world."
