My body moves in rhythm with the music buzzing in the club, I throw my hands up swaying my hips shouting the lyrics which I am pretty sure is wrong. Never mind the words, I need the vibe to keep going distracting me from my own head.
For years music, family, friends and booze are the things keeping me sane, keeping me rooted to my life. People would kill to be me, eldest daughter to two successful business Moghuls, grandchild of ex-prime minister of the country. But no one understands the complications of being me. I am like the pocket size ticking bomb wrapped as a gift with pretty bow.
Without stopping dancing, I see Remi and another girl literally breathing in each other's space. I wonder if there is any girl in the campus other than our childhood friends he has not slept with. I chuckle thinking how he has tried to seduce Cecy and Glyn jokingly in the past.
Speaking of Cecy, I know she is somewhere in the crowd safely tucked in Jeremy's arms giving me the free reign to do as I please. My best friend worries too much about me, I want her to focus on herself and her life better after Jeremy not so politely pointed out my selfishness.
There is nothing in the world I would not have done to be more present in her life, to help her out with whatever demons she had to fight. But it's all over now, she did better on her own and later Jeremy came like her personal knight to save her. Though I wouldn't call him as Knight, he and I are still cross with each other.
"Hey there, Can I buy you a drink?" A guy with green eyes stares back at me. No idea who he is but I am not going to say no for free drink. He is good looking with blond hair, eyes looking like deep forest and good physique.
"I would like that" I flip my hair back focusing back on dancing when I feel a hand tugging at my wrist making me stop. Mr. Green eyes is looking expectantly at me for I don't know what. I raise my eyebrows at him questioningly and he says "Let's get out of the dance floor".
I let him pull me away from the dance floor to sit near the bar. "Two drinks please" he calls out to the bartender before turning my way. "I am Ashton Smith. You are?" he practically shouts to be heard over the music surrounding us.
"Do you often buy drinks for girls you don't even know?" I question him instead of introducing myself.
"If the girl is as pretty as you then why not" He gives me a small smirk sipping his own drink.
I shake my head at him letting my lips curl up a bit, "I will tell you my name, if I wish to"
"Unfair that you know mine but I don't know yours" his brows raise as he keeps swirling the drink in his hands. My focus shit to his arms, all hard muscles from hours of working out at gym. My mind drifts to someone else's very veiny hands that I have dreamed of caressing. Ashton waves his hand in front of me bringing me back from my dreamland.
"I asked why you were alone" he says.
"I am with my friends who are busy enjoying by themselves" I answer him back giving him a sheepish smile.
"Providing me the exact opportunity to approach you" he let his upper lip curve.
"So you were stalking me then?" I wiggle my eyebrows at him playfully.
"More like caught up in your web" he winks at me.
Honestly this guy is hanging somewhere between creepy and charming. Few more minutes into the conversation and I will have no difficulty in putting appropriate label on him.
I don't bother him with an answer, proceeding to sip my drink in hand. We rather sit in silence for half a minute before he bombards me with questions about me. My brain probably doesn't get the stranger danger since I entertain him with answers.
