ELI

Feeling bored out of my mind, I look out of the window watching fellow students lounging on the lawn. These peasants are so easy to satisfy, one good click in their outfit for the day, one cup of Starbucks and getting laid is enough for them.

I am never satisfied, neither materialistic things nor sex matters. My mind always seems to be chasing something I can't explain. There is a void in me nothing seems to fill.

My love for cars, the thrill that comes with racing, my interest in accompanying Lan on whatever plans he has are only temporary means to keep me in check. My whole life is carefully threaded around patterns, control and routine.

However there is someone who is shaking up my whole being with their presence. My patterns are dissolving into incorrigible lines, my control breaking and my routine is messed up at its best.

To the point, where I no longer remember my routine before her. She has seeped into my life stealthily and curled herself up comfortably in my fucking head. My eyes caught the figurine form of my obsession, walking towards her class with headphones on. Her face looks so serene as she looks up the sky letting the soft sunlight brighten her face. As I keep looking at her, I feel someone else in my peripheral vision watching...Me..

Roaming my eyes around, trying to locate the person did no good. I couldn't spot anyone who could possibly be watching me. Just when I thought about giving up, my eyes fall on a dark figure standing between two trees, the bushes hiding most of his body. My whole body tenses when I see the figure's attention entirely on her.

With the intention of catching him, I find myself walking out of the class ignoring Mr. Stubbs warnings. Pretty sure I learnt whatever the professor was teaching from my Dad.

There is no one in the place where the creep was standing and there is no trace of Ava. Convincing myself that she is not in danger doesn't seem to work as I know evil when I see one. I take my phone out and dial her number.

Call declined.

ELI: Where are you?

TROUBLE: Last time I checked you weren't my Dad

ELI: I am coming to look for you

TROUBLE: Don't. No interest in getting thrown out of the class.

She even sends picture of her class room as proof. I try not to think about how she turned co-operative to avoid seeing me.

Satisfied that she is safe, I look around searching for CCTV camera. To my disappointment I find no camera anywhere in this part of the lawn. My suspicion regarding that stranger turns more stronger each second. How long has he been following her? Who the fuck is he? What does he want from her?

First I am going to find him and then I will decide his fate. I return to the class I left in the middle, trying to focus back on the lecture. Listening to the lecture seems really hard when images of the stranger keeps popping up in my head.

Somehow I managed to complete my day by texting Ava often asking about her whereabouts. The last time I acted clingy was when I turned six, courtesy to my cousin for gaslighting me into thinking he is my Dad's favorite.
