Athira's pov.

I woke up to the sound of chaos.

Absolute, unrelenting, full-blown chaos.
The kind of chaos that could only be produced by a family of lunatics... as in my beloved family.

The muffled yells echoed through the hall, creeping under my bedroom door like an ominous warning that today was going to be anything but peaceful.

My brows furrowed as I squinted, blinking at the early morning light filtering through my curtains.

The next thing I knew, I felt a soft poke on my cheek.

"Di! Wake up!" A familiar, chirpy voice sounded right next to my ear.

I groaned, rolling over to escape the obnoxious poking.
"Go away, Evansh," I mumbled, pulling the blanket over my head.

"Nooo, Di! You're gonna get busted!"
Evansh's voice whined, and then I felt the bed dip under his weight as he crawled up beside me.

I peeked out from under the blanket, staring at my 14-year-old brother, who sat cross-legged on my bed like he was waiting for storytime.

His big brown eyes blinked at me with that innocent, fluffy look that could melt anyone's heart.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, still half-asleep.

Evansh grinned, a little too happily for someone who just said I was about to be in trouble.

"Maa is super mad at you, Di. Like, super-duper mad. She was saying something about last night, and Papa looked like a grim reaper."

"What? Why?" I pushed myself up, trying to make sense of what he was saying.

Before he could answer, Shaurya, who was very much not a morning person—popped up from the other side of the bed with a smug grin on his face.

He was perched on the armchair near the window, watching this unfold like it was the morning's entertainment.

"You're so busted, Di," Shaurya whispered conspiratorially, eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Eva Mausi is pissed about something, and Dadu looks like he's ready to declare war."

I sat up straighter, my heart pounding.
"Wait, what? What did I do?"

Evansh, still looking like the world's cutest fluff ball, tilted his head innocently.
"Oh, I don't know, but Shaurya bhaiya said it might be because of that business party you went to yesterday and the thing with someone."

"That thing?" I echoed, panic rising. "What thing?"

The door suddenly flew open, and in burst Ayaan and Aiyanna, these two twins went everywhere together or what?!

They looked way too excited for this early in the morning. Well Aiyanna looked excited, Ayaan just had a smug grin plastered all over his face.

Aiyanna hopped onto my bed while Ayaan leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, smirking.

"Oh, you're in deep shit Athira di!" Aiyanna announced cheerfully, bouncing on the bed beside me.

Ayaan nodded, crossing his arms.
"They're all waiting for you downstairs, Di. Maa, Dadu, and Eva Mami and Atharva Mamu. And, well, good luck with that."

I groaned, rubbing my face, already dreading the answer to my question.
"What did I do now?!"

Aiyanna's eyes sparkled with a devilish gleam, clearly enjoying the drama unfolding.

"Oh, you know... just something about Neha spilling wine on you at the gala few days ago." She paused for effect, her lips twitching into a grin. "And you, uh... pulling her hair last night in front of the entire world and threatening to ruin her. No big deal."
