It was already past noon, and the damn sun was still too bright for my liking. Slivers of golden light cut through the blinds annoying, but I didn't dare move.
Not with Athira wrapped around me like this.
She was asleep—peacefully, blissfully asleep, her head resting on my chest, fingers curled into the fabric of my shirt like I might disappear if she let go. Her breathing was slow and even, her lips barely parted, and fuck how much I loved her. And how I absolutely loved burying my fingers into her hair as she was asleep.
Her hair always spilled across my chest like shadows spun from moonlight—soft, chaotic, and divine.
As if the night had crafted her just for me, my own quiet eclipse, resting where even darkness felt safe.
We'd slept through breakfast, and I couldn't get myself to move away from her to go down and prepare lunch.
I'd been watching her for almost an hour now as she stayed fast asleep in my arms, mumbling something about how I smelled like a sinful cinnamon bun.
I couldn't help but chuckle at how she was mumbling about food in her sleep. More accurately sweets.
BANG.
I sighed in annoyance.
The bedroom door swung open so violently I thought it'd break.
"Wakey, wakey, lovebirds!" Aiyanna's voice pierced the silence of the room.
"Seriously?" I groaned, not even opening my eyes as I tightened my grip around Athira instinctively. "Do you want to die today?"
"Oh please," Aarna chimed in from behind cheerfully, stomping in right after her now partner in chaos.
