As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, Mingyu found himself lingering in the hallway outside of Wonwoo's workspace, his heart pounding with a strange mix of nerves and excitement.

This wasn't the first time he'd considered asking Wonwoo out, but something about tonight felt right.

He had been holding onto this feeling for so long, unsure whether he could ever voice it, but as he watched Wonwoo so calmly engrossed in his work, he realized he didn't want to keep waiting.

Gathering his courage, Mingyu stepped inside, quietly clearing his throat.

Wonwoo looked up, momentarily startled, and then his face softened into a faint smile.

"Mingyu? Need something?"

"Uh, yeah. I wanted to ask you something."

Mingyu said, his tone somewhat hesitant but determined.

Wonwoo leaned back in his chair, folding his arms with a curious, expectant look.

"Go on."

"I was wondering, would you like to go out for dinner with me sometime? Like, a date?"

Mingyu's voice wavered a bit, but his gaze remained steady.

The words seemed to hang in the air between them, and Wonwoo's expression shifted from curiosity to mild surprise.

He blinked, momentarily thrown off guard, before quickly regaining his composure.

"Mingyu, you know we can't."

Mingyu tilted his head, trying to mask his disappointment.

"Can't or won't?"

"Both, actually."

Wonwoo replied, his tone steady but softened with an undercurrent of emotion.

He looked away, a hint of conflict flashing in his eyes.

"You know about the company policy. And even if we wanted to ignore that, think about what it could do to us. To our friendship."

Mingyu's shoulders slumped slightly, but he pressed on, determined to get to the heart of Wonwoo's resistance.

"But does it really have to be this way? It's not like we're breaking any laws. We're adults, we're capable of handling ourselves professionally. If we're careful, we could make this work."

Wonwoo shook his head slowly, his gaze drifting out the window.

"It's not just about professionalism, Mingyu. I've seen relationships fall apart over work complications, and I don't want that to happen with us. Not when there's so much on the line."

Mingyu took a step closer, lowering his voice as he spoke.

"But aren't you even a little curious? About what this could be?"
