The village of Tempest buzzed with the usual activity, with everyone going about their tasks, preparing for the inevitable conflict with the Orc Lord's forces. Horimiya, Benimaru, Shuna, Shion, and the rest of their close companions were deep in conversation about their strategies when suddenly, the ground trembled with the sound of marching footsteps.
A group of Lizardmen, led by none other than Gabiru, entered the village with an air of arrogance. Their leader, Gabiru, walked with a puffed chest, his eyes scanning the village as though it were beneath him. His ego was evident in every step he took, and his followers mirrored his pride.
"People of this village!" Gabiru's voice boomed across the village as he stepped forward. "I am Gabiru, the great leader of the Lizardmen. We have come to offer you the chance to join us under my leadership to defeat the Orc Lord. You should be honored. With me, victory is assured!"
His tone was laced with arrogance, and the disdain in his eyes as he looked around the village was hard to miss. The villagers murmured amongst themselves, feeling insulted by his words. Gabiru's full of ego attitude was starting to get on everyone's nerves.
Benimaru stepped forward, his eyes narrowed in anger. "You're joking, right? You come here, to our village and demand that we serve under you? The people of this village are not weaklings to be commanded by someone like you." His hand rested on his sword, ready to act if things escalated.
Hori, sensing the tension, placed a hand on Benimaru's shoulder, stopping him from drawing his weapon. "Benimaru, wait. Let's not escalate this unnecessarily. We should try to talk this out first." She turned toward Gabiru, her calm demeanor hiding the irritation brewing within her. "Gabiru, we appreciate your... offer, but we don't need anyone to lead us. We are more than capable of handling ourselves."
Gabiru scoffed, crossing his arms as he looked down at Horimiya. "You think so highly of yourselves, huh? How cute. But the truth is, without my leadership, you'll all fall to the Orc Lord's army. But I get it-you're too proud to admit it. Fine. If you don't want to join us willingly, how about I make you?"
His eyes gleamed with arrogance, and a challenging smirk spread across his face. "How about this? Prove your strength in battle. If you defeat me, I'll leave. But if I win, you all swear loyalty to me. What do you say?"
The challenge was thrown, and everyone felt the tension in the air rise. Benimaru's fist clenched at Gabiru's arrogance. Shion and Shuna exchanged frustrated looks, and even Gobta, who usually stayed out of such matters, seemed irritated. But Horimiya, ever composed, sighed softly and stepped forward.
"Very well, Gabiru. If it's a fight you want, we won't back down. But remember, this is your doing. You'll regret your arrogance," Miyamura said, his voice calm yet firm, his eyes locking with Gabiru's.
Gabiru laughed loudly, a mocking tone to his voice. "Let's see what you've got!"
Without another word, the battle began. Gabiru's followers charged forward, their lizard-like bodies swift and imposing. Benimaru was the first to step up, his sword flashing in the sunlight as he cut through the first wave of attackers with ease. Shion followed, her brute strength making quick work of several Lizardmen, while Shuna supported from the back, casting defensive spells to protect their comrades.
Gabiru himself lunged at Hori, his spear aimed directly at her. She sidestepped swiftly, her eyes calm as ever. Miyamura, standing by her side, moved in sync with her, effortlessly blocking Gabiru's attacks with his agility and precision. Together, they fought as a perfect pair, their movements fluid and graceful.
"You're strong," Gabiru admitted between gritted teeth, his earlier arrogance fading as the intensity of the battle grew. "But I won't lose!"
Gabiru lunged again, this time more recklessly, trying to overwhelm Hori and Miyamura with sheer force. But it was no use. Hori anticipated his moves, countering with a swift kick that sent Gabiru sprawling backward. Miyamura followed up with a precise blow, knocking the spear out of Gabiru's hands.
The rest of Gabiru's forces were faring no better. Benimaru, Shion, and the others quickly overpowered the Lizardmen with a combination of strength, strategy, and teamwork. Within minutes, Gabiru's entire force was on the ground, defeated and humiliated.
Breathing heavily, Gabiru struggled to his feet, his pride shattered. "How... how could this be?" he muttered, staring at Horimiya and Miyamura in disbelief.
Horimiya, still calm and collected, stepped forward. "Gabiru, this could have been avoided if you had shown humility. Tempest is not a place where you can throw your weight around. Now, as promised, leave."
Gabiru gritted his teeth, looking at his fallen comrades, then back at Horimiya. Defeated both in body and spirit, he bowed his head in reluctant acknowledgment. "Fine... we'll leave. But this isn't over."
With that, Gabiru and his remaining Lizardmen gathered themselves and retreated, leaving the village of Tempest in silence. As the dust settled, Benimaru sheathed his sword and turned to Horimiya with a grin.
"Well, that was satisfying," he said. "But I wish you'd let me take him down earlier."
Miyamura chuckled. "Sometimes, Benimaru, you have to let people like Gabiru defeat themselves."
The group laughed, the tension fading as they watched Gabiru and his entourage disappear into the distance. The village returned to its usual calm, the battle just another reminder of the strength and unity that made Tempest what it was.
As the sun began to set, Hori and Miyamura stood side by side, looking out over the village. They knew this was just one battle in a larger war, but together, they could face anything. And they started preparations for war against orc lord.
