The sinister halls of Blackwood Manor twisted and transformed as Minji fought to keep her mind clear. She could feel the spirit’s malevolent energy watching her, creeping into her thoughts, amplifying every fear and doubt. The ghost knew her better than she had imagined, and it had chosen her as its primary target.
In the shadows, the spirit’s voice echoed coldly. “Your heart is too pure, Minji… and that is your weakness. Sacrifice is a foolish trait here. You may save others, but who will save you?”
Minji gritted her teeth, her eyes sharp with determination. “I don’t care about what you say. I’ll keep fighting, even if it means facing every nightmare you throw at me.”
The ghost’s laughter resonated through the halls, sending chills down her spine. “Then let’s see how much you’re willing to endure, Minji. Let’s see how strong your love and loyalty truly are.”
In the blink of an eye, the hallway around her faded into darkness. When the mist cleared, Minji found herself back in her school—only, everything was eerily quiet, and shadows flickered ominously around the empty halls.
Ahead of her, she saw Hanni and Haerin—except something was wrong. Their eyes were blank, their faces void of any emotion as they stood still, looking like lifeless dolls.
“Hanni! Haerin!” Minji called out, rushing toward them.
But before she could reach them, the spirit’s voice filled the air. “You care so much about your friends. But do they truly care about you? Or are you nothing more than a protector—a shield they hide behind, a pawn in their game?”
The words stung, but Minji forced herself to push through them. She knew Hanni and Haerin loved her—this was just another illusion meant to break her spirit.
But as she drew closer, Hanni’s gaze snapped up, her eyes filled with an unnatural malice. “You always think you’re the hero, Minji. Always trying to save everyone, as if we’re helpless.”
Haerin’s voice joined, a cold edge to her tone. “Do you ever consider that maybe we don’t want to be saved? That we don’t need you to swoop in every time something goes wrong?”
Minji took a step back, her heart aching as she tried to reconcile these words with the friends she knew. She wanted to believe it was all a trick—but the haunting look in their eyes felt too real.
“Hanni… Haerin… this isn’t you,” she whispered, her voice breaking. “You’re my friends. I know you care about me.”
The ghost’s laughter grew louder. “Oh, but they’re only showing you the truth, Minji. You are alone in your loyalty. Would they sacrifice for you as you do for them?”
As if on cue, Hanni and Haerin moved closer, their eyes locked onto Minji with unsettling intensity. She could feel the spirit’s influence over them, twisting their words and actions.
“No!” Minji yelled, clenching her fists. “I won’t believe it. I know who they are.”
But just as she steeled herself, Hanni lunged toward her, her movements sharp and aggressive. Minji dodged, her heart racing as she realized she’d have to defend herself against her own friends.
“Fight back, Minji,” the spirit taunted. “Or will you let your love for them be your downfall?”
Minji hesitated, knowing that if she hurt them, she might be hurting her real friends. But as Hanni and Haerin closed in, their expressions blank and hostile, she realized she had no choice but to protect herself.
“Forgive me, Hanni… Haerin,” she whispered, ducking their attacks and searching for a way to break through the spirit’s influence.
The spirit watched with cruel delight, feeding off Minji’s hesitation, her pain, her determination. But Minji was undeterred. She knew she had to stay strong—for herself and for her friends.
Finally, she saw an opening. Channeling all her strength, she reached out, grabbing Hanni’s arm and pulling her close. “Hanni, I know you’re in there,” she whispered fiercely. “Fight it. Don’t let this spirit control you.”
For a moment, she saw a flicker of recognition in Hanni’s eyes, and Minji’s heart surged with hope. But just as quickly, the spirit’s influence tightened its grip, pushing Hanni away and forcing her back into a blank, hostile state.
The spirit laughed darkly, its voice taunting Minji. “You may be strong, but this is a battle you cannot win alone.”
Minji glared into the darkness, defiance burning in her eyes. “You may control their bodies, but you’ll never break our bond. I’ll keep fighting, no matter what.”
As the spirit’s laughter echoed around her, Minji braced herself. She knew that the path ahead would be filled with trials, and that the spirit would use every trick to tear her down. But one thing was certain: Minji would not give up—not until she’d freed her friends and shattered the evil spirit’s hold over them once and for all.

The Nightmare Deepens…
With each step, Minji moved closer to understanding the spirit’s true power and the threat it posed. The haunting echoes and illusions grew stronger, more dangerous, with every trial she faced. And as she fought through each illusion, Minji became more determined, her pure soul shining even brighter against the darkness.
But she knew this battle was far from over. The spirit was relentless, and it wouldn’t rest until it had completely crushed her spirit—or until she found a way to finally defeat it.
