Sana stood in the rain, watching as Aarav’s car disappeared down the road. The goodbye had been brief, almost casual, as if neither of them wanted to acknowledge the weight of it. Aarav had hugged her, said something about being back in a few months, and then he was gone, just like that.

But this time, it felt different. This time, the silence between them had been heavy, filled with all the things they hadn’t said. Sana had wanted to tell him how she felt, to ask him to stay, but the words had caught in her throat, swallowed by the fear of rejection.

She stood there for a long time, even after Aarav was out of sight, letting the rain soak through her clothes. It felt like an ending, but she wasn’t sure what was ending—her friendship with Aarav, or the illusion she had clung to for so long.

Leela’s words from the café came back to her: “What do you want for yourself?” It was a question that had haunted her ever since. For years, she had built her life around Aarav, waiting for him to come back, waiting for him to see her. But now, as she stood alone in the rain, Sana realized that maybe it was time to stop waiting.

She turned and walked back toward her apartment, her mind swirling with thoughts of the future. It was time to figure out what she wanted—what her life could be without Aarav at the center of it.
