The meeting went as smoothly as I thought it would be. After two hours of negotiations, we signed the contracts and shook hands, sealing the deal. I had Roxie move the meeting to my headquarters for one reason only. The commute to Wren's home is close. Not wanting to deal with Roxie's questions and curious stares, I tripled Aimee's pay for coming in on her night off to watch the girls.

She arrived at the office almost two hours ago, taking the twins home.

Roxie offered to babysit, but we've had enough drama for the day. She has been a great fucking PA to me, but I've become too dependent on her when it comes to the twins. She must see Wren as a threat. A threat Wren isn't. She's just someone who I enjoy fucking.

I sit at my desk, looking down at my cell phone. My text messages have all gone unanswered. Each timestamp shows Wren has read my messages. Could she be upset about Roxie? I can give her an apology for Roxie's behavior, but that can lead to questions. I'm sure she must think I have fucked Roxie before. Most people believe Roxie and I have fucked. It's the typical cliche: boss and PA.

My thumb hovers over Wren's number.

"Boss," Roxie walks into my office and places my phone face down on the desk. "Here are the copies of the contract. Also, the conference you're speaking at was pushed back to three pm tomorrow." She places the files on my desk.

"Thank you." I stand, taking the files and moving them to my file cabinet.

"I think you're the only CEO in this era who still owns a filing cabinet. We have everything digital, too, you know." She says, her voice light and playful.

"You can head home for the night." I don't want to make idle chit-chat with her. The only voice I want to hear is Wren's. I want to listen to her moaning my name over and over. I move toward my desk, picking up my cell phone. "I'm—"

"Boss, Skylar. Did I do something wrong?"

"If you must ask that question, you should know the answer. You're a great PA, one of the best, and I don't want to lose you. So, I will have HR write up a new contract for you tomorrow." Wren isn't the woman I see as my wife, but when I do find the one, I can't have Roxie fucking it up.

"Skylar—"

"Boss or Mr. Styrke will do." I need to get us back into our respective roles.

"Boss. There is no need to change what isn't broken. If you want me to be less of a personal assistant and more of just an assistant, I can do that. That said, I hope you can respect the work hours. My contract does state Monday through Friday, eight to five. Also, I'm an assistant to Stryke Technologies. Picking up your daughters—"

"I don't need you to give me a rundown of your contract. I wrote. Have a good night, Ms.Harvey." Her eyes widen as I call her by her last name. I haven't addressed her by her last name for years. Hell, I think after the first month she started working for me, I just called her Roxie. The only employee I called by their first name. Drawing the line, she has to go back to Ms. Harvey.

"Good night, Boss." She left the office, and I quickly unlocked my phone, needing to hear Wren's voice.

I call her phone, and it goes straight to voicemail, not once but four times.

Me: Wren, is everything okay?

Me: Why aren't you answering your phone?

Me: Ignoring me would only lead to punishment. Is that what you want? For me to punish the sweet pussy of mine?

Me: I'm not a very patient man. I also don't take it well being ignored.

Each timestamp appears as she reads my messages but doesn't respond. I snatch my blazer from the back of my chair and rush out of the office. Wren needs to be taught a lesson tonight. I call her once more as I take the elevator to the lobby. Straight to voicemail again. No matter how furious I am, I follow the traffic laws, and that pisses me off more. If I'm gone, my daughters will have no one. I can't wait to punish Wren for that as well.
