Next to you Gally coughed for the umpteenth time into the sleeve of his jacket. He looked apologetically at you, reaching to get another sip of champagne. The two of you were at a engagement party for your cousin, and while the meal was absolutely delicious, you could hardly focus on anything but Gally's coughing.

His cheeks flushed bright red as another cough flew from his mouth, and with a glare from you he excused himself to go to the bathroom. You could finally focus on something else, and joined in the conversation on your other side about your cousin's ring and where they were planning to go on the honeymoon. Just as the conversation was getting good, Gally sat down, back from the bathroom. You took no notice of him and continued to listen to your aunt until she, and everyone else around you stared at your right side. You followed their gazes and saw Gally, struggling to seem comfortable and carry a conversation with your cousin's fiance. His face, ears, and neck were bright red, and there were small beads of sweat all over his forehead.

"Gally! What's wrong?" you were shocked at the bright hue painted across his face.

"Nothing," he choked out, finding it hard to breathe without coughing again.

"Come on," you said, putting your napkin on the table and pulling him out of his seat. You walked to a corner of the restaurant so no one could see, and your worried eyes flew all over his face.

"What is going on Gally? Your face is bright red, and you're sweating like it's one hundred degrees in here!"

"I don't know Y/N, I just can't stop coughing and it seems really, really hot in here. I'm sorry, I just didn't want to ruin your fun at the party. I know you enjoy these kind of things," he admitted, staring down at his shoes. You took the inside of your forearm and pressed it to his forehead.

"Angel, you're burning up! Let's go and I can run you a cold shower and get you some medicine. I do like getting dressed up nice and seeing my family, but you are my family too, and I love you too much to let you suffer like this. Come on, let's go home."

"But, I don't want to ruin this! Y/N, you were so excited-" Gally protested.

"Gally, this is just the engagement party. There are going to be lots of parties and I'm going to spend a lot of time with Y/C/N before the wedding since I'm the maid of honor. I promise, it's ok," you insisted. Too weak to protest any more, Gally hung his head and followed you back to the table.

You whispered a few words to your cousin, and she nodded and gave you a hug before you said goodbye to the rest of your family and took Gally to the car. On the way home, he stared out the window and watched the lights in the city go by. He was still disappointed in himself, and you could tell, so you put your free hand on his thigh and rubbed small circles with your thumb. Soon, he fell asleep with his head pressed to the window, and you let him sleep for the rest of the drive.

When you pulled into the parking garage Gally stirred at the bright lights and woke up. You helped him out of the car and led him to the elevator, where he leaned on your shoulder until you got to the door of your apartment.

"Gally, I'll start the shower for you. Go to our room and take your suit off, and it'll be ready by the time you're done."

"No," he said. "I don't need a cold shower. I just need you, Y/N," he whispered the last part and stared down at the floor. You smiled and took his hand. "Of course."

Moments later his suit and your dress were on the floor and the both of you crawled into bed wearing nothing but your underwear. Gally pulled you close to his body and you rested your head on his chest. His skin was sticky and warm, but it smelled like Gally, with a hint of your favorite cologne of his.

"I don't need anything else," he said again with more confidence. "I just need you." Gally pressed a warm kiss to the top of your head, and fell asleep tracing shapes on your back with his finger.
