----------

Things have been going well between Malakai and I. After we had our conversation a few weeks ago we have slowly been progressing in our relationship. We haven't really talked in detail about the important things yet but that would all change tonight. I was meeting him at his house so we could discuss our limits, kinks and roles. Every Dom was different so I wasn't sure what to really expect from Malakai as a Dom. He hasn't really shown me that true side of him and I could only gauge it based off of the few plays that we had which were not many. So I was very excited to finally be able to engage in an actual play with him.

Work has been going great as well. I am slowly getting used to the job and the workload. I have a busy schedule so it has been hard to meet up with Malakai recently and seeing glimpses of him at work has me on edge because he is so close yet so far away. I was sitting at my desk sorting through the new applications for the new artist that we would be onboarding for the Fall showcase. I was also going to be putting my work up as well so between choosing a new artist and figuring out what I wanted to show had my hands tied.

Everyone at the office was nice and welcoming and I was glad for it. I was worried that people wouldn't feel that I was qualified for the position but I guess it was mainly because they trusted in Malakai's decision. At work I tried my best not to think about him. I wanted to remain as professional as possible, and it helped that I rarely saw him. I usually saw him for our meetings with the entire team but that was it. He was the CEO after all. It was Monday and we had a meeting in a few minutes about the new recruits and I was trying to gather all of my notes when I was interrupted by someone's presence. I looked up and smiled when I saw who it was.

"I have been standing here for a couple of minutes now but you were so absorbed in whatever you were looking at." I laughed. Maena, my assistant, was standing there with her hand on her hip shaking her head at me.

"Sorry Mae, you know when I am focused the entire world disappears. What's up?" I gathered up all my papers after checking the time. It was 10:45 and the meeting started at 11:00. I didn't want to be late. I heard that the boss was a stickler for punctuality.

"I actually came here to grab you for the meeting and to give you some notes to look over while we head over to the conference room." I got up from my desk and we walked out of my office. I took the notes out of her hand and glanced over them. It seemed that it had something to do about the theme for the Fall showcase.

"Thank you! I was just wondering when the theme would be presented." As I was skimming through the notes I noticed this year we were doing a mixed theme. The exact themes were not written in the notes so I assumed that we would discuss this further in today's meeting.

"Nyra look out." I heard Mae call out to me but when I looked up it was too late. I had already bumped into whoever she was trying to warn me about. Strong hands gripped my waist to stop me from falling. I was a little disoriented but I could tell who it was immediately. From the smell of his cologne to the grip he had on my waist there was no doubt in my mind that the person I ran into was Malakai. I looked up at him. He was already looking down at me but I couldn't read his expression.

"Be careful and watch where you're going." His hard tone sent shivers down my spine and I had to control my breathing. Be professional Nyra. He squeezed my side and gave me a look that said behave and then he loosened his grip and stepped away. I took some time to compose myself and straighten out my clothes. "Maena." He nodded at her and then walked into the conference room.

"Omg did you see that head nod, and look at him in that 3 piece suit. That man is F.I.N.E." Maena whispered to me. I laughed at her. One thing I realized after I started working here is that all of the women in this office have a crush on Malakai. I was not upset at all because I couldn't blame him. I would be in their shoes as well if I didn't actually have a relationship with the man already. I pushed her in the conference room since she seemed to be too dazed to move. She rolled her eyes at me.
