Chapter 4:

Mika "any plans for today", Jules "um what time is it", Mika "it's early", Jules "I promised Maya that I would be there at the hospital early", Mika "isn't it a bit too early", Jules "that little girl doesn't have anyone in her life, she has no one to trust. She has no one, as of now the only thing she has is me, and if it's my promise to go see her this early I'm the morning than that'll be it", Mika "honey I didn't mean to strike a nerve or get you upset", Jules "I'm so upset love, I just don't wanna be running late, I'm on schedule today. So I can't even be late if I wanted to", Mika "I shall be right with you", Jules "yeah", the two of them got dressed and was out of the door in no time, in the car and driving to the hospital. Mika "babe that car has been following us for the past few routes that we've been taking, doesn't that seem a bit sketchy", Jules "I mean it does. But I'm hoping that we'll be okay", Mika "babe he's very close to us", Jules "I am trying to get out of this but this is idiot won't let me, he keeps trying to cut me off and he's over road ranging, this is a regular street, and it's not the time nor place for this", Jules slammed her hand on the wheel and began to get frustrated. Mika "we're almost there, the hospital is just ahead", just as the Jules was about to pull up to the hospital parking lot, a large bang happened, followed by the other car colliding into hers.

*BOOM, BANG. The loud sound of two cars colliding with one another. Both Jules and Mika were knocked out cold*

The others had the horrific look of terror on their faces as they saw the whole scene unfolding, Simone "JULES, MIKA", Simone, Lucas, and Daniel rushed to the scene. Teddy "what's going on out there", Simone "accident, both Jules and Mika are unconscious", Teddy "I need two stretchers, I need the trauma team asap, LET'S GO", everyone was all on deck, the fire team was also on the scene, trying to get the doors open and get both Jules and Mika out of the car, but the the both of them have massive amount of injuries. Jules could potentially have a concussion, a very bad one, the injury indicated that when both of the cars had collided that Jules went forward nearly out of her seat, banging her head hardly on the impact. Mika had a bit more injuries but from the looks of it, Grey Sloan had to act fast, in teams of three, Bailey, Hunt, Schmitt took Jules straight up to the operating room while Beltran, Helm, and Altman took Mika straight up to another operating room, Bailey "we need to work together and get this done asap, suit up", Jules started to crash on the spot, Bailey "I'm starting compressions", Bailey started doing compressions, Schmitt charged the AED machine and pressed it against Jules chest, Bailey "clear", they shocked her two times while Bailey continued doing compressions, Bailey "come on Jules, come back to us. Come on, Jules come on, you can't leave us just yet, come on sweetheart. Come on Jules", out of the corner of her eye Bailey could see Jules patient looking through the window from above, her little body started to shake, and she screamed out Jules name loudly. Bailey "get her out of here", Simone wrapped her arms around the little girl, all she could do was hold her back as much as she tried, taking her back to her room. Simone "sweetie I'm gonna need you to calm down and take it down a notch. My team are an amazing team of doctors and they are the best in Seattle, they are gonna make sure that Jules and Mika pull through", Maya bursted out into tears, Maya "I don't wanna lose her, I don't wanna lose her. She's all I have", Simone "you're not gonna lose her and when she's out of surgery the first thing I am gonna do is take you to see her, and that's a promise. What's this", Maya "Jules got it for me, can I please watch the operation", Simone "I'm not sure that's a good idea", Maya "please she's alone. She doesn't deserve to be alone", Simone "listen I am gonna ask my team if it's okay and then when I come back and if everything is cool, well head there together", Maya "okay", she squeezed onto her stuffed dog tightly, while Simone left the room. Daniel "what's going on", Simone "that little girl wants to watch the surgery", Daniel "what surgery", Simone "Jules's surgery", Daniel "that's not gonna be allowed", Lucas "yeah, that's not even up for discussion or debate", Simone "that is easy for the two of you to say but when you have no one else in this world and the only person you have is someone that knows you wanna be safe, that's Jules for her. Whether you like it or not she's gonna be there", Simone storms off to the operating room. Bailey "hey, what are you doing here"? Simone "I have a request and before you even say no, just hear me out. As doctors it's our job to keep people safe and just look after them, that's what Jules does for Maya but it's more than that, the two of them have developed this endless beautiful connection, a connection that isn't just in the form of a doctor and a patient but more of a mother and a daughter. Maya feels connects to Jules in ways that are so important to the both of them, she may not legally be her daughter, but sooner than later it'll be real. So please allow me to sit up there with Maya so she can look after the person that looks after her", Bailey "you have a lot of guts coming up in here and telling me all that but I'm so glad that you did. So go get her and sit up there", Simone smiled hard, Madeleine "am I allowed to", Simone "yeah, come on", Maya and Simone headed up to the observation deck, and just sat down. Maya couldn't stop looking at Jules, Maya "is she gonna be okay? I know that's probably a dumb question but is she gonna die", Simone looked down at her, Simone "you know sometimes we do lose people we love, and there's not much we can really do about it. But the do you see the doctors down there, and when I say I am saying this with so much pride, they will never let one of their own lose their life. When I say that they are going to save her, I mean that and in no time she'll be reading you bedtime stories again, and staying up late with you until you fall asleep. This is just the beginning for the two of you", Maya smiled, as the surgery continued, Maya locked eyes on Jules. About three hours later Maya had fallen asleep through the whole surgery but the outcome was as great for both Mika and Jules. The both of them were stabled and on the road to recovery, Simone moved as she felt Bailey touched her shoulder, Bailey "I think you can take her to see Jules, she's been awake for quite a bit and she's asking for her girl", Simone "got it", Simone grabbed Maddy by the hand and escorted her to Jules and Mika's room.

Jules "there she is", she said hugging her. Jules "what's wrong baby", Maya "I thought I was going to lose you", Jules "baby you are never going to lose me", Maya "but", Jules "no buts princess come here baby girl", Maya "I don't wanna hurt you", Jules "get over here, come here", Maya climbed in the bed with Jules, Jules "my coworker said that you screamed loudly when you heard me code", Maya "because it scared me a lot. Jules you're all that I have, I don't want to lose you", Jules "your not going baby, I promise you that. Just close your eyes baby", within a few minutes all of them had fallen asleep.

(A few days later)

Mika "where's Maya", Jules "I believe Amelia went to take her to meet Scout and Luna in the daycare area", Mika "isn't she a little bit too old to be in that area", Jules "I mean yeah but poor baby can't stand to be away from me and I wanted to see how she was going to do being in that kind of situation. I am basically testing her in a way, but on a real note I have to ask you something serious and I want you to be as honest as you possibly can be with me", Mika "I can try", Jules "okay. So I've did a lot of thinking, and I mean a lot of thinking and I don't know how to even start", Mika "uhhh oh, I don't really like the sound of that", Jules "babe it's not that bad. I wanna adopt Maya", Mika "as in be her mother", Jules "yes, how do you feel about that", Mika "I mean it's a really big step, but I wanna support you and her so I'm okay with it. It definitely gonna take some getting used to", Jules "so you're okay with it", Mika "yeah", Jules "back so soon", Maya wrapped her arms around her Jules tightly, Jules "I'm sorry but what the heck even happened? Why is she crying, baby what happened, talk to me", Amelia "she sort of fell asleep, and woke up in panic, she sort of", Jules "sort of what", Amelia "she screamed very loudly, I think she may have had a nightmare or something and just woke up in panic", Jules "it's okay honey, I'm right here baby. Okay but why is she crying like this though, it can't possibly be because of some nightmare", Amelia "a few more kids were there, a little bit older than her, laughed at her", Jules "you have got to be kidding me, are you serious", Amelia "I wish I could say that I was lying but I'm telling the truth", Jules "it's gonna be okay honey. Don't worry, I've got you. Do you know when me and Mika could leave the hospital, we've been here for a few days already and I don't know how much longer I can be here knowing over gotta deal with her", Amelia "listen I'm gonna check and ask Bailey and see when ya could leave", Jules "okay". Jules "don't cry honey, just close your eyes and try and get some rest my sweet princess", she said kissing her head, Maya eventually fell asleep in Jules's arms. Bailey "good evening Mika and Jules, how are you feeling", Jules "I'm feeling very much better, I just wanna be able to go home and rest properly in the own comfort of my home", Bailey "how are you feeling Mika", Mika "way better", Bailey "okay so I checked all of your charts and stats. The both of you are doing well in recovery from the accident, and it's looking like the two of you can go home. As for", Jules "I already spoke to the social worker, she's able to come home with us", Bailey "okay. Well I hope that the three of you get home safely", Mika "okay. This time we will", finally after days in the hospital, Mika and Jules left back home, taking Maddy with them. Once back at home, Mika "are we gonna just crash in bed tonight or are we gonna do something", Jules "what do you wanna do princess", Maya begins to rubs her eyes and starts tugging on Jules arm, Jules "I think that says it all, come on princess. You're getting tired, I see", Jules picked her up and carried her to the room, Mika followed behind them. Into the bedroom they went, Jules "you can wear this sweetie", after they all changed, the three of them climbed in bed and immediately headed to bed.
