The soft murmur of the night settled over Noah's house, the distant hum of the city barely audible through the windows. Inside the cozy living room, the warmth of friendship filled the air. A single, thin mattress stretched across the floor, big enough for four bodies to share. It was covered in soft blankets and pillows, creating a perfect little haven for their sleepover.

Reverie glanced at her friends with a small smile, the tension she had been carrying with her all day loosening with every passing minute. Noah, Theodore, and Danielle were like her safety net, and though Kazu's shadow lingered in her mind, it felt distant now. She was safe here, with them. Even if it was temporary, she'd take it.

"Alright, pajamas on! Time for bed!" Noah called out playfully as he tossed a pillow at Theodore. They had just changed into matching pajamas they'd impulsively bought earlier, striped cotton sets that made them look like a cute squad. It was hilarious and heartwarming all at once.

Danielle was already wrapped up in a blanket, her arms and legs barely visible as she burrowed into the covers. "I'm so full," she groaned. "Your mom's cooking is dangerous, Noah."

Noah grinned, "Yeah, she does go a bit overboard, but come on! No sleep yet, we need to play something. Let's do something fun. Truth or dare?"

Reverie's heart fluttered. It had been so long since she had moments like this. Simple, light-hearted fun. She pulled her blanket around her shoulders and nodded in agreement. "Alright, let's do it. But with a twist."

"What kind of twist?" Theodore asked, sitting cross-legged on the floor, his competitive nature already kicking in.

"We'll add some Soju to the mix," Reverie said with a mischievous smile, pointing at the bottles Noah's parents had brought out for them. "You can pick truth or dare, but if you can't answer or complete the dare, you drink."

Noah raised his eyebrows but didn't protest. "Okay, fine. But no crazy dares, okay?"

Reverie's grin widened. "No promises."

The game started out innocent enough, with playful dares and harmless questions. But the mood shifted slightly as they moved deeper into the night.

It was Reverie's turn to ask a question. She turned her gaze towards Theodore, her eyes glinting with mischief. "Theo," she started, "you like Danielle, don't you?"

Theodore's expression froze for a moment, the playful smile on his face faltering. "Uh... what?"

Reverie leaned in, teasing him. "Oh, come on! Why don't you just tell her? Why haven't you asked her out yet?"

Danielle's cheeks turned a shade pinker, and she half-heartedly smacked Reverie with a pillow. "Hey! Don't put him on the spot like that!"

Theodore scratched the back of his neck, glancing nervously at Danielle before answering, "Well... because we're both trainees. Same agency, same industry, and we all know how it works. Relationships are pretty much banned. And honestly, it's not that I don't want to ask her... it's just... I know the consequences."

Danielle's face softened at his words, clearly touched. "Theo..." she whispered, her voice almost breaking. (She's just being dramatic here)

Noah, on the other hand, pretended to gag. "Okay, that's enough romance for one night. Next question before I throw up."

Reverie giggled, but her eyes shifted to Noah. "Okay then, Noah," she said, her tone suddenly more serious. "Why are you always so... over-the-top caring when it comes to me? You've got this... protective streak that even I notice sometimes."

The room went still. Noah, who had been laughing just moments ago, suddenly froze. His gaze flickered to Reverie, then quickly away as if he couldn't bear to look her in the eye. He didn't say a word.
