Dhruv's confession left Aarav stunned. He always knew Dhruv had feelings for Aditi, but the intensity in his eyes revealed a whole new level of obsession. Aarav’s gaze shifted from Dhruv to Aditi, who was standing a short distance away, her expression unreadable.
Aarav’s stomach dropped. Had she heard everything? Dhruv noticed Aarav’s frozen look and turned to see Aditi watching them.
He felt a surge of panic—did she hear his confession? The feelings he had kept hidden, fearing they might push her away… was she about to end things with him? He couldn’t let that happen. Losing her wasn’t an option.
Aditi approached slowly, her eyes filled with a mix of emotions he couldn’t quite decipher. Dhruv’s heart raced, dread and hope battling within him. As she reached him, she didn’t say a word. Instead, she grabbed his wrist and started walking, tugging him along without an explanation.
“Uh… where are you taking him?” Aarav asked, his voice uncertain.
Aditi shot him a glare, silencing him. “Okay, you two carry on. I’ll… go home.” Aarav muttered, backing away as he watched them leave. "Oh… they’re gonna—never mind."
Aditi led Dhruv to the nursing room. She guided him to sit on the examination table, then noticed the bruises on his knuckles from punching Vikram. Gently, she took his hand in hers, her fingers cool against his sore skin. Dhruv was silent, watching her every move, still reeling from the intensity of the moment.
Aditi didn't say a word as she carefully treated Dhruv’s hand, focusing on his bruised knuckles. She worked quietly, applying the cream, and then finally broke the silence.
“Why did you beat him up?” she asked, not looking up.
Dhruv frowned, wondering if she hadn’t overheard his confession to Aarav. He felt a sense of relief—but at the same time, he wished she knew how he felt. He wanted her to know, even though he couldn't find the words now.
She looked at him, her gaze firm. “Why did you beat him, Dhruv? That was inhumane! You could get suspended!”
Dhruv just stared back, not saying a word. It was like she was waiting for him to explain, to say something she wanted to hear, but he didn’t respond.
“You know what? Just don’t call me or come in front of me until I calm down,” she said, walking out of the room.
As soon as she reached home, Aditi went straight to her room, closed the door, and slid down against it, her hand over her heart, trying to calm its wild beating. Her face was flushed, her mind spinning.
“He likes me,” she mumbled, a look of disbelief on her face.
She’d heard every word Dhruv said to Aarav. Each line he spoke echoed in her mind, and each word felt like honey to her ears.
Because I fucking love her.
I've always loved her.
Why not? Dhruv was her crush. She liked him maybe even loved him. She had been too afraid to admit her feelings, always hiding them, afraid it would ruin their friendship.
Every time people teased them about being a couple, it sent her heart soaring. And now, hearing his confession, she couldn’t help but smile.
Aditi jumped onto her bed, hugging her teddy bear tightly, replaying his words over and over in her mind.
Because I fucking love her.
"Okay, now what?" Aditi thought to herself, her mind buzzing with a new plan. She grinned, ready for the drama ahead.
